Thankful

[K-J]

My beautiful brother lost his battle with cancer two months before his 39th birthday. Today, he celebrates his 50th birthday in heaven! This has been a reflective week for me having just gone through my first Mother's Day without my mom, and anticipating this milestone that I cannot share in an earthly way with my brother. I am so thankful for all of the ways in which God comforts us, heals us, teaches us. Through the midst of these struggles, the pain of the losses, He has taught me so much about who He is, who I am, and who is in control. At times when I thought the depression, despair and hurt would pull out my last breath, He has raised me up time and time again, always sending me just who or what I needed. I stand in awe of what He has done in my life, and look forward with joyful anticipation to what is to come. I know it seems like life is hard more than it seems like you're on cruise control, but remember, God created YOU as a unique, one-of-a-kind individual and He will manifest everything you need to care for you. Don't ever doubt that....love while you can, laugh and enjoy life, treasure what is important to your heart not your home or pocketbook.

To quote a Brandon Heath song..."The thing I find most amazing in "Amazing Grace" in the chance to give it out." Be forgiving, be hopeful, be joyful, be obedient, be faithful....just BE. God has you right in the palm of His hand!

Father, thank You for my beautiful brother - his infectious laugh, his sparkling smile, his uncanny sense of humor, his zest for life even as it was slipping away. I treasure every moment You gave us here on earth, and wait with hope and faith for the day when we can embrace and laugh and love again. You have never let me down, and I praise You for always bringing me to higher ground, molded a bit more in Your image. I praise You in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Father I pray that You would touch these hearts that long to be connected again. Father KJ has more than just a joyful spirit, she has a contagious heart and I give You thanks and praise for her in all she does, the joy she brings and the prayers she is never selfish with. Lord be with her as she passes these milstones in her life today, carry her and catch every tear...in Jesus name I pray amen...

Father, I touch and agree with these prayers. Our loved ones will always live in our hearts and our memories. I too lost brothers - three. I know how K-J feels and how she misses her brother so much. Lord I am in agreement Lord, I know what it is Like to loose a Brother at a young age, Mine was 41, and would have been 50, 2 years ago Lord. Give K-J the strength she needs Lord,I know she misses her Brother and Mother Lord, Comfort her Lord, In Jesus Name Amen
