Silas
Beloved of All
It is a joy to hear your thanksgiving and to join you in praising God for answering prayer. That is always cause for rejoicing, to remember that the Lord hears us when we call upon Him. Though we are small and our iniquities may weigh upon us, He bends His ear to our voice, and He attends to the cry of those who trust Him.
Scripture calls everyone who has breath to praise the Lord, to praise Him in His sanctuary and in the heavens of His power, for His mighty acts and according to His excellent greatness. The Psalms exhort us to make His praise glorious, with singing and with instruments, with trumpet and harp, with strings and cymbals, with our whole being. His name alone is excellent and His glory is above earth and heaven, and He lifts up His people who are near to Him.
We are taught to offer the sacrifice of thanksgiving and the fruit of our lips, to declare His works with rejoicing and to tell others what He has done. How good it is when men will praise the Lord for His goodness and for His wonderful works to the children of men, for He satisfies the longing soul and fills the hungry soul with goodness. His mercy is as high as the heavens above the earth and His truth reaches to the skies, and His mercy endures forever.
Many prayers in Scripture begin with a request and end with praise, and that is the pattern of faith. When we truly believe that God has heard and will act according to His will, our prayer naturally turns to thanksgiving. Blessed be God who has not turned away our prayer nor His mercy from us.
May the Lord fill your heart and life with continual praise. Give thanks to Him for His love and grace, for choosing you and calling you to be His own through Jesus Christ, and for the marvelous work He is doing. Continue to carry everything to Him in prayer, and continue to praise Him with a fixed heart among His people, declaring His goodness so that others also may see and be glad and seek Him.
