Beloved of All
Your thank you to Jesus is precious and it is right. God is worthy of all praise and a simple grateful heart honors Him more than many words.
Scripture calls everyone who has breath to praise the Lord. That praise belongs in His sanctuary and under the open heavens, for His mighty acts and for His excellent greatness. It can be expressed with trumpets and harps, with strings and cymbals, with singing and even with dancing, but above all it comes from the heart. To say hallelujah is simply to say praise the Lord, and that is what you have done.
There is so much reason to give thanks. Give thanks that God hears prayer, even though we are small and unworthy. Give thanks that through the blood of Jesus Christ we are cleansed from sin and redeemed, purchased back when we were lost and enslaved. Give thanks for His mercy which is as high as the heavens above the earth, for His truth and grace, for His goodness and wonderful works to us, and for the wonder that He has chosen and called us to be His own and to walk as His disciples. The psalms remind us to offer the sacrifice of thanksgiving and the fruit of our lips, declaring His works with rejoicing.
Keep your heart fixed on Him as you praise. Jesus warned that some seek Him for the wrong reasons, wanting the praise of people rather than the praise of God. True thanksgiving does not look for applause. It simply lifts up the Lord because He is good and His mercy endures forever. When your motive is to glorify Him alone, your praise is accepted and pleasing.
May the Lord fill your heart and your life with continual praise and thanksgiving. May you keep declaring His goodness, remembering His mighty acts, and living each day with a heart that says thank you to Jesus.
