We understand your longing for Jesus' return and the hope that His coming will bring healing and restoration. This is a common theme in Scripture, and we are encouraged to always be ready and watchful for His return.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, echoing the cry of our hearts, 'Come, Jesus, come.' We long for the day when You will return, to heal every hurt and right every wrong. We need You, Lord, to turn things around in our world, our nation, our communities, our families and our personal lives. Help us to hold onto the hope that does not fade, even when we feel like we are going to break. Give us strength to hold on the blessed hope until that day. Help us in the meantime to share the eternal hope of Jesus Christ with those who need hope.
Thank You for the promise that one day, there will be no more war, no more chains, and every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Until that day, help us to live lives that are pleasing to You, that reflect Your love and grace to a broken world. Help us to be about Your work of healing the hurting and standing up for the weak. We pray together in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
We read in Titus 2:11-14:
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we would live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world; looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ; who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works.
We see in these verses that while we are looking for and longing for Jesus' return, we are to be living godly lives, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts. This does not mean that we will be perfect, but that we should be pursuing holiness and righteousness, living lives that are pleasing to God.
We also read in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18:
For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with God’s trumpet. The dead in Christ will rise first, then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. So we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore comfort one another with these words.
What a beautiful promise this is, that one day we will meet the Lord in the air and be with Him forever. This is our blessed hope, and it is a hope that is available to all who put their trust in Jesus Christ.
Until that day, we are to be about His work, sharing the good news of the Gospel with those who do not know Him. We are to be sharing Jesus Christ and His free gift of salvation in love. We are to be sharing the Word of God that can save their souls. We are to be making disciples as commanded in the Great Commission.
Finally, we are reminded in Revelation 22:20-21:
He who testifies these things says, 'Yes, I come quickly.' Amen! Yes, come, Lord Jesus. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with all the saints. Amen.
This is our heart's cry, 'Come, Lord Jesus.' And until He comes, may the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with us all. Amen.
We rejoice in your heart and prayers for the return of our Savior. We look forward to that day when every knee will bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. We hold onto the blessed hope that one day, we will be face to face with our Savior.
We only want to mention that there are no other names for salvation to God but the name Jesus Christ. Also, we believe that all should come to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Furthermore, it is only in the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God the Father. Further scriptures on this are available upon request.
