Duties of Wives to Husbands

Duties of Husbands to Wives
We give thanks with you to Jesus Christ our Lord for His help to you today, for strength at work and for grace to rest at home without turning to alcohol. Your gratitude is itself a sign of His mercy at work, and we join you in thanking God for the prayers of others and for this fellowship where burdens can be shared.

We hear your desire to continue one day at a time free from alcohol and from the fear and suffering that comes with alcohol use and withdrawal. God honors this daily dependence. As physicians apply medicine patiently until health returns, so the Lord works in us gradually, healing desire and will as we keep turning to Him. Do not grow weary if the struggle feels long. Keep seeking Him, keep walking in honesty, keep using the practical helps He provides, including wise counsel, accountability, and medical care. Continue to bring this need to Him each morning and each evening.

We thank God that some of the pain in your arm and elbow and hand has eased. We pray for complete healing and for wisdom to care for the body He has given you. Even when pain lessens, it is good stewardship to keep your doctor informed and to follow his guidance. If pain returns or worsens, seek care promptly, and even if it does not, let him know how you are doing so he can advise you well.

Your longing to be healthy and happy in order to care well for your wife and family and to serve your bosses, coworkers and customers faithfully is pleasing to God. Love is shown in this kind of faithful, everyday service. Ask the Lord to make you more like Christ in patience, kindness, self control and truthfulness, and He will shape you as a better husband, father and worker for His glory. Small faithful steps each day, speaking with grace, working with diligence, listening with love, are the way that change takes root.

We will pray for your wife and your adult son, that the Lord would give them desire and strength to drink less and smoke less, and for your son that he would be set free from marijuana. These habits harm the body and cloud the mind, and God who made us calls us to sobriety and clarity so we can love Him and others fully. We pray He will give them conviction, hope and practical help to turn away and to find healthier ways to cope and to rest.

We also lift up your adult daughter and her marriage and the child she carries. We ask God to strengthen their marriage in love and faithfulness, to protect her health and the health of her baby, and to fill their home with peace and joy as they prepare to welcome new life.

We pray now for your night. May the Lord grant you deep and peaceful rest, a clear mind and a happy heart in the morning, renewed to walk with Him and to do the work He gives you.

Father, we thank You for this brother and for Your help to him today. Keep him in Your grace and keep him from returning to alcohol. Heal his body where there is pain and give him wisdom to care for it well. Make him more like Your Son at home and at work. Have mercy on his wife and son and daughter, draw each of them closer to You, deliver them from what harms them, strengthen the marriage of his daughter and keep her and her child safe. Grant him rest tonight and wake him with hope. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Thank you for your prayers and advice while I lay awake on my bed laying on my frozen ice pads to reduce the possib swelling in my Bones or muscles and or nerves in my neck and my back and my left arm and forearm and lastly in my left hand. Thank God that I am a right handed person 😁. I will see my doctor today in about ### hours from now and I hope and I pray that between you dear God and Jesus Christ my lord and Savior you can and will help my doctor to figure out how to help me remove the pain from my body. Please help me get my projects and proposals done correctly and on time today. Please soften the hearts of my bosses and my coworkers and my customers and especially my wife who still drinks too many alcohol and smokes too many cigarettes and please let her release any anger and or resentment that she has in her heart. Please help our adult son who also drinks too many beers and smokes too many cigarettes and pot. Please continue to help our adult daughter with her job and her marriage and especially the child that is inside her womb under your prayers and supervision. Thank you God for your help! Amen. I love you 😘

Your gratitude to Jesus Christ is encouraging to read and it is good to hear how the Lord has helped you at work and has helped you to stay away from alcohol as you rest at home. Thanking Him one day at a time is the right way to walk. God is faithful to give strength for today, and as you keep looking to Him day by day He will continue to help you.

Alcohol is hard on the body that God gave you. Your liver must work to process it and too much overworks it. It also works against your nervous system and can harm the brain, affecting you both physically and mentally, and it can bring you under its control. That is why Scripture tells us to be sober and clear minded and not to be controlled by wine but to be filled with the Spirit. God wants you to have a clear mind and a healthy body so you can love and serve Him and care well for your family and do your work faithfully.

Addiction is powerful and willpower alone is often not enough. There is a simple picture of a person who loves cookies and takes a whole bag to bed, then says to someone else please take these away and do not let me have another one even if I beg. The desire is still there and the person knows the temptation should be removed. In the same way it helps to not keep alcohol in the house, to remove what tempts you, and to ask trusted people to help you stay accountable and to pray for you. You have already thanked those who prayed for you, keep letting them stand with you and be honest with them when the craving comes.

When people give themselves to alcohol and drugs they become weakened and are not able to stand strong as they should. God wants to make you strong again in Christ, strong in mind and body, so you can be the husband and father and worker He has called you to be. That strength comes as you stay close to Jesus, feed on His word, pray, and walk in the light with other believers.

It is good to thank God that some of the pain in your arm and hand has eased. Because your body is a gift from God, please continue to use wisdom and keep your doctor informed. Even if you feel better, let him know how you are doing and follow his counsel rather than deciding on your own not to see him. If pain returns or worsens, seek care promptly.

Your desire to be a better person, a better husband to your wife, a better father to your adult children, and a better employee is a good desire that God can fulfill as you abide in Christ. For your wife and your adult son, keep praying that the Lord will deliver them from drinking and smoking and from using marijuana. Love them, set a godly example by your own sobriety, and encourage them toward what is healthy and holy without nagging or condemning. God can set them free as He is setting you free. For your adult daughter, pray for her marriage that it would be strengthened in the Lord and for her pregnancy that both she and her child would be healthy and protected. God cares for mothers and children and hears those prayers.

May the Lord give you a good night of rest and wake you with a clear mind and a joyful heart to walk with Him tomorrow. Keep trusting Jesus as your Lord and Savior, keep asking for His help one day at a time, and keep giving thanks. He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it.

Thank you for your prayers and sage advice. I appreciate you and the many good friends who have prayed for me. Thank ### God bless you ###🙂🙏

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We rejoiced to read your thanksgiving for how God helped you at work and gave you strength to not drink alcohol as you rested at home, and for the gratitude you expressed for all who have prayed for you.

We continue to lift you before the Lord one day at a time for continued freedom from alcohol and from AUD and AWS. We pray for your complete healing and that the pain you felt in your left arm and elbow and hand would be fully removed, and that you would see lasting improvement so that you will not need further medical care for it unless it returns. We ask God to make you healthy and happy and strong to care well for your wife and family and for your bosses and coworkers and customers, and to help you be a better person and a better husband and a better father to your adult kids and a better employee.

We also stand with you in prayer for your wife and your adult son, that God would help them drink less alcohol and smoke less cigarettes and that your son would be set free from smoking pot. We bring your adult daughter and her marriage before the Lord, asking for His protection over her and her pregnancy and for a happy and healthy child, and that He would keep her safe and well. We pray too that God would grant you a good nights rest and that you would wake up early each morning with a clear mind and a happy heart to serve Him. We remember the promise in 1 Cor 10:13 that God is faithful and will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, and in Jer 30:17 that He restores health.

If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray in Jesus Name, Amen.
