Dear God thank you again for helping me get through another weekend with out drinking alcohol! Today is my 3rd week of being sober. Please help me get my projects and proposals done correctly and on time today and this week. Please help me get a new AC thermostat for my house. Please help my wife and our adult kid's with their needs and please help them overcome their addictions to alcohol and cigarettes and pot. Our adult daughter is doing well she just got married and with your help and blessings she will be a mom because she May be pregnant with a child! Please continue to help me be a better husband and a better person and a better dad to our adult kid's and help me continue to be a good employee to help my bosses and our company succeed. Thank you for everything that you have done and our currently doing and will do in the future to help me to be able to take care of my family and my responsibilities. Amen 🙏

We rejoice with you and thank God with you for these three weeks of sobriety, this is a great victory and a testimony of God's grace and strength at work in your life. We praise Jesus Christ for helping you through another weekend and we give thanks for His mercy that is new every morning. The scripture reminds us, Do not be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit Ephesians 5:18 and also Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour 1 Peter 5:8. Your desire to remain sober honors God and honors your body which is a temple of the Holy Spirit 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, and we encourage you to continue to walk in that freedom, for where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty 2 Corinthians 3:17.

We also lift up your work before the Lord. We understand the pressure of projects and proposals and deadlines, and we pray God will grant you wisdom, clarity, and diligence. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men Colossians 3:23. We trust He will equip you to be a good employee and to help your bosses and company succeed as you steward your responsibilities well. We also bring your practical need for a new AC thermostat before the Father, for He cares about every detail of our lives and My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19.

We join you in praying for your wife and your adult kids and their struggles with alcohol and cigarettes and marijuana. We know these addictions can bring strong bondage, but we know that Jesus came to set the captives free and that through Him we can bear the fruit of self-control Galatians 5:22-23. We pray they will come to desire sobriety and wholeness and seek the Lord for deliverance. We also rejoice with you for your adult daughter who has entered into marriage, which is holy and honorable before God, for marriage is ordained by Him as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman. We pray for her and her new husband, and for the possibility of a child, that God would bless their marriage and if it is His will, bless them with the gift of life. Children are a heritage of Yahweh, the fruit of the womb is his reward Psalm 127:3.

We are encouraged by your heart to be a better husband and a better father and a better person, and we pray God will continue to sanctify you and strengthen you day by day. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6.

We pray together now in Jesus' name. Father in heaven, we thank You in the name of Jesus Christ for Your faithfulness to our brother over these three weeks of sobriety. We thank You for Your sustaining power through the weekend and we ask You to continue to guard him from temptation and fill him with Your Holy Spirit. Grant him strength to remain sober one day at a time and to walk in freedom. Lord, give him wisdom and focus and excellence as he works on his projects and proposals this week, help him to complete them correctly and on time for Your glory. Provide for his household needs, including the AC thermostat, according to Your riches and goodness. We lift up his wife and his adult kids to You, Lord, we ask that You break the chains of addiction to alcohol, cigarettes, and marijuana in their lives, draw them to Yourself, convict their hearts and lead them to repentance and healing. We pray for his daughter and her husband in their new marriage, bless their union, keep them in Your will, and if she is with child, we pray for that precious life, for a healthy pregnancy and for Your hand of protection over mother and child. Help our brother to grow as a godly husband and father, to love his family as Christ loves the church, to lead with patience, humility and grace, and to serve his workplace with integrity. Continue to help him care for his family and his responsibilities as You provide for him. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We were so encouraged to read your thanksgiving and to hear God has helped you reach three weeks without alcohol. That is a hard-won milestone and we rejoice with you over it. Thank you for sharing it with us, along with the other burdens on your heart.

We hear how much you want to do well at work, to provide at home, and to be a steady husband and dad. Wanting to get those projects and proposals done correctly and on time, and even a practical need like an AC thermostat, matters because it is part of caring faithfully for your family.

We also hear your love for your wife and adult kids as you carry their struggles with alcohol, cigarettes and pot before the Lord. It is a tender thing to want freedom for them while you are walking out your own sobriety. One thing that helps many people stay steady is not walking alone, a trusted community like a Celebrate Recovery group, an AA sponsor, or a small group at church where you can be honest and encouraged week by week. Continuing what has helped you these three weeks, and letting one or two trusted people know how work and home pressures are going, can make the next weeks more sustainable.

And we share your joy for your married daughter and the possibility of a grandchild. What a hopeful season to pray over.

Father, we thank You for sustaining our brother these three weeks and for the work You are doing in him. Give him strength for each day, wisdom for his work, and grace to love his wife and children well. Provide for their home needs and draw each family member toward healing and wholeness. Lead his daughter and son-in-law in this new chapter. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

We join you in giving thanks to our gracious God who has kept you these three weeks from strong drink, for this is indeed His mercy and not your own strength. To be kept sober is to be kept by grace, and we praise the Lord Jesus Christ who breaks off evil habits and sets the captive free. You have looked to Him for this deliverance and we exhort you to look to Him still for all things, for to us He is not one who lived long ago and died, but He is alive, our familiar Friend, to whom we may bring every need.

We have carried your petitions before the throne. We pray that the Lord will give you steadiness of mind and diligence of hand to complete your projects and proposals correctly and on time, that you may be found faithful in your labour and be a good steward for your employers and for your household. We pray also for your daily provision, even for the need of a thermostat for your home, remembering the word that all things are yours in Christ, and that our Father knows what we have need of before we ask Him.

We pray with special earnestness for your family. We ask the Lord to show His mercy to your wife and to your adult children, that He would deliver them from bondage to alcohol and cigarettes and pot, for these things enslave the soul and waste the body which is to be a temple of the Holy Ghost. We pray that they may come to hate the sin that ensnares them and to seek that overcoming power which is found only through Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone can save from sin and give a new heart.

We rejoice to hear that your daughter is well and has entered into the holy covenant of marriage, which God ordained for one man and one woman for life, and we pray that if the Lord has blessed her womb, He would keep both mother and child and make that home a place where Christ is honoured. May that new family walk in the covenant promise as Noah and his household did, choosing to go in where God calls.

And we pray for you, that God would make you more and more like His own Son, for those who are quickened and brought into the family of God bear the family likeness. We pray that you may grow as a husband and as a father and as a servant in your daily calling, not by your own resolve alone but by Divine Grace. Let family prayer be the nutriment of your household piety. We have found that where family prayer is neglected, evil enters, but where Christ is honoured at the hearth, there is strength to overcome evil with good. Gather your wife and children as you are able and call upon the Lord together, and maintain private prayer with double zeal.

May the Lord keep you looking to Jesus for every step, longing for His presence and trusting His covenant fidelity. Lean upon Him and say with confidence that not one good thing has failed of all that the Lord has promised to them that are in Christ Jesus, in whom alone is salvation.

We thank God for what He has done, for what He is now doing, and for what He will yet do to enable you to care for your family and to fulfill your responsibilities to His glory.
