Your prayer shows a humble and true understanding of the heart before God, and it is right to come to Him in this way. As the Scripture asks, who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin? No one can say this on his own, for every person needs mercy.

You have confessed this well. We cannot scrub our own heart clean or claim we are without fault. The washing that matters is not an outward washing of the body, which profits nothing if the soul remains corrupt, but the inward cleansing that God alone gives. As it is written, blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God, and create in me a clean heart, O God, and wash my heart from wickedness. This is the purity God desires, a mind and heart made clean by His grace, and a life offered to Him as a living sacrifice, worshiping Him in spirit and in truth.

This humility you have shown is the groundwork of all that is good. God looks to the one who is meek and quiet and trembles at His word, while pride makes the heart unclean before Him. To say with honesty, we are not perfect and we need Your mercy, is to stand in the place where God delights to give grace.

Thank you for giving thanks for the great mercy and forgiveness found through Jesus Christ alone. There is no other way to be made clean. He is the Bread of Heaven and the Word of Life, and through His blood we are washed anew and our hidden faults are forgiven when we confess them to Him.

You also asked for strength to resist temptation today. Take courage from the promise that God is faithful. No temptation has taken you but such as is common to man, and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to bear, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. He sometimes allows temptation and lengthens our prayer for a time, not to harm us, but so that we will run continually to Him and remain close to Him, as children run to their father.

So continue to walk humbly and closely in His truth. Keep confessing your need, keep asking Him to cleanse your heart, to crucify evil thoughts and desires, and to keep you from pride. He hears those who call on Him with a pure and humble heart, and He will keep you and give you patience and deliverance in His time.

We join you in this prayer. Loving Father, wash this heart anew by the mercy of Jesus Christ, remove hidden faults, create a clean heart within, and grant strength to resist temptation and to walk humbly in Your truth. In Jesus name, Amen.

Your prayer shows a humble and honest heart before God, and that humility is exactly where He wants us to be. Proverbs 20:9 asks who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin, and the answer is no one. On our own we cannot scrub our heart clean or claim we are without fault. That verse is meant to strip away pride and bring us to the truth that we all need mercy.

That is why thankfulness for the forgiveness found through Jesus Christ is so central. Forgiveness and redemption do not come by our effort or by trying to buy our way clean. They come only through His sacrifice. When sin abounded, grace abounded much more, and when God forgives, His forgiveness is complete and total. He does not forgive as we often do, keeping a record to hold over someone later. He washes and cleanses fully, and in Christ we are justified before Him.

You asked Him to wash your heart anew and remove hidden faults. That is a biblical prayer. We are to confess our sins to God, for it is against Him that we have ultimately sinned, and He is faithful to cleanse us. Confessing our faults honestly before Him, without excuse, keeps us humble and keeps us walking in His truth.

You also asked for strength to resist temptation, and Scripture speaks clearly about this. Temptation is common to us all. Even Jesus was tempted, yet without sin, so temptation itself is not sin. Sin comes when desire is allowed to conceive and we choose to yield to it. Every temptation presents a choice, whether to walk according to the flesh or according to the Spirit. The flesh promises immediate fulfillment if we will turn aside from God's path, but that path always leads away from life.

God does not solicit us to evil. He is faithful and will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to bear, and with every temptation He makes a way of escape so that you can endure it. The way is there, but we must take it. Often His Spirit will say to turn away, to flee the place of temptation, to run as Joseph ran. The strength to do that does not come from willpower alone. It comes from reckoning yourself dead to sin and alive to God in Christ, and from feeding on Jesus Himself, who is the Bread of Heaven and the living Word of God. The Word of God in your heart is the great power in the hour of temptation, and walking in the Spirit day by day is how you learn to choose His way over the flesh.

When you do fail, His Spirit is there to convict and restore, and that very conviction is a sign that you belong to Him. Do not continue in sin that grace may abound, but when you stumble, come quickly again for cleansing and help. He understands temptation and gives grace to help.

May the Lord keep you humble, wash you anew, uncover and cleanse even hidden faults, and strengthen you by His Spirit to choose His way today. May you be nourished by Christ, the Word of Life, and walk closely in His truth, finding that to walk after the Spirit brings peace, while to yield to the flesh only brings sorrow. We have been deeply blessed by your prayer that the Lord would wash your heart anew and remove hidden faults, and we have continued to bring this before the Father. We join you in acknowledging the truth of Prov 20:9 that none of us can say on our own that we have kept our heart pure or that we are clean and without sin, and we rejoice with you in the great mercy and forgiveness found only through Jesus Christ. We have been praying that God would answer your cry from Ps 19:12 and cleanse you from hidden faults, that He would grant you a clean heart as promised in Ps 51:10, and that He would continue to feed you with the Bread of Heaven, the Word of Life, even Jesus Christ Himself who is the Word of God as we see in John 1:1 and John 6:35, and according to 1 John 1:9 that He is faithful to forgive and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

We pray together now, Father we thank You for Your mercy toward us through Jesus Christ, we ask You to continue to wash our brother and sister anew, to reveal and remove every hidden fault, to keep this heart humble before You and to give strength to resist temptation and to walk closely in Your truth day by day, in Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
