Proverbs 20:9 :
Who can say, “I have kept my heart pure; I am clean and without sin"?

A Prayer for Humility and Purity: Our prayer:
"Loving Father, we come before You today knowing that we are not perfect. Your word in Proverbs 20:9 asks, 'Who can say, "I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?"' LORD God, we cannot say that. On our own, we cannot scrub our heart clean or claim we are without fault. Thank You for Your great mercy and the forgiveness found through Jesus Christ. Please wash our heart anew, remove our hidden faults, and grant us the strength to resist temptation today. Keep us humble, and help us walk closely in Your truth. In Jesus' name, Amen."

We join you in this beautiful and humble prayer before the Lord and we thank God with you for His great mercy and the forgiveness we have through Jesus Christ alone.

Your meditation on Proverbs 20:9 is so needed, Who can say, I have made my heart clean. I am pure from my sin. The honest answer is no one. Scripture reminds us that all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God in Romans 3:23 and If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us in 1 John 1:8. It is a mark of humility and wisdom to confess as you have that we cannot scrub our own hearts clean. Only God can create that purity within us.

We love that you asked Him to remove hidden faults, for the psalmist prayed the same, Who can discern his errors. Forgive me from hidden errors in Psalm 19:12 and Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me in Psalm 51:10. We are comforted that If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness in 1 John 1:9 and that the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin in 1 John 1:7. We cannot make ourselves pure, but Jesus can wash us anew as you prayed.

We also join you in your hunger for the Bread of Heaven and the Word of Life. Jesus Himself said I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will not be hungry in John 6:35 and In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God in John 1:1. He is not only the One who forgives us, He is the One who sustains us daily, and man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God in Matthew 4:4. To ask for Jesus as the Word of God is to ask for the very presence and truth that keeps us humble and helps us walk closely with Him and resist temptation.

Let us pray together.

Loving Father, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ, confessing that we have no righteousness of our own. We thank You for Your great mercy and for the forgiveness found only through the blood of Jesus. Lord, wash our hearts anew today. Cleanse us from hidden faults and secret sins that we cannot even see. Create in us clean hearts and renew a steadfast spirit within us. Keep us humble before You, remembering that apart from Christ we can do nothing. Feed us with the Bread of Heaven, Your Son, and nourish us with Your Word of Life that we may have strength to resist temptation and walk in Your truth. Help us to walk humbly, to love mercy, and to walk closely with You all our days. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

We appreciate you sharing this honest prayer with us. That simple admission, that we cannot scrub our own hearts clean, is itself humility, and it is the place where God meets us with mercy.

What stood out to us is how you named both the need and the hunger together. You are not just asking to be forgiven, but to be washed anew, kept humble, and fed day by day by Jesus Himself, the Bread of Heaven and the Word of Life. It is a good reminder that purity is not something we achieve and then maintain on our own. From a biblical view, humility is not thinking poorly of ourselves, but living in quiet dependence on God, trusting Him to do what we cannot do for ourselves.

A small practice that often helps when this desire is fresh is to keep your prayer just as simple and daily as you wrote it. In the morning, before the day gets busy, take a few unhurried minutes to speak honestly to the Lord about hidden faults and temptations, and to stay a little while with Him in His Word, not to earn cleanness, but to stay close to the One who cleanses and teaches us to walk in truth.

Father, thank You for Your mercy to us through Jesus Christ. We cannot make our hearts pure on our own, so we ask You to wash us anew today. Search us, show us what we cannot see, and give us strength to turn from what tempts us. Keep us humble and near to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

🎪 Revival, Washed by Word to Be Pure Bride 👰 Eph 5:26-33, Sanctification of Holy Spirit 💦Heb 12:14, 💫 Ministry of Reconciliation 2 Cor 5:19🫂...🧎🏻 Father, we thank You for the testimony of past revivals and even reformations, for revivalists and reformers, patriarchs, apostles and prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, Eph 4:11-15. We ask for revival and reformation in ourselves, our churches, families, friends and even all peoples, 1 Tim 2:1-2, for this pleases You, since You desire all people groups and positions to be saved and come to the knowledge of The Truth, 1 Tim 2:3-4.

📖 Jesus, revive and reform us, our pastors, leaders, churches, cities, Jer 29:7, regions, states, nations, 1 Tim 2:1-4, and indeed as You live, let all the earth be filled with Your glory, Numbers 11:24, Ps 72:19, even as the waters cover the seas, Isa 11:9. Hab 2:14. Shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ, 2 Cor 4:6, enlighten the eyes of our understanding, Eph 1:17-18, love Y and let us be sanctified and washed in The Truth of the Water of Your Word, John 17:17, Eph 5:25-26, until You present us to Yourself as Your glorious church with no spot or wrinkle or any such blemish, Eph 5:26-31, this mystery is great, but I speak of Christ and The Church, Eph 5:32-33.

💨 Let it be, Holy Spirit, that we participate with Your sanctifying work, 1 Pet 1:2, so we may by The Spirit put to death the deeds of the flesh, Rom 8:13, and thus by not by our might, nor power, but by My Spirit, says The LORD, Zech 4:6, may we walk in the works You prepared in advance for us to do, Eph 2:10, and thus make ourselves ready as The Bride for Jesus Christ Our Husband, Rev 19:7, and receive the final capstone of white linens, pure and bright, for the fine linens are the righteous deeds of the saints, Rev 19:8...

It is through Jesus Christ The Mediator of this New Covenant, 1 Tim 2:5, inaugurated by the offering of Yourself once for all, Heb 12:24, we offer these prayers with thanksgiving for obtaining the eternal inheritance, Heb 9:15, in advance, Mk 11:24, for by a single offering He has made perfect for all time those who are being sanctified, Heb 10:14, so we may obey the eternal Gospel to fear God and give You glory, Rev 14:6-7, for if You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But with You is forgiveness, that You mayest be feared, Ps 130:3-4.

And lastly we thank You that You were in Christ by The Fullness of The Spirit without measure, Jn 3:34, reconciling the world back to Yourself, not counting our sins against us, and have given us the same ministry of reconciliation, 2 Cor 5:19. Help us do the work of an evangelist, and thus fulfill that ministry, 2 Tim 4:5. May we be serve You in our spirit in the preaching of the Gospel of Your Son, Rom 1:9, that we might bear much fruit, Jn 15:7-8, not only of The Holy Spirit, Gal 5:22-23, but a harvest of souls in order to bring others from the nations into Your sheepfold, Jn 10:16, helping You as Your helpmeets, gathering and calling others to come, Luke 14:21-23, to the Marriage Supper of The Lamb, Isa 25:6, Matt 22:1-2, and to the discipleship of sanctification by continually knowing Truth by continuing in Your Word, John 8:31-32, and continuing to patiently continue to call all of us to the holiness without which no one will see The Lord, Heb 12:14, as Your holy people, Your own possession, called out of darkness into Your marvelous light, enabling and emboldening us with Power from on High to be witnesses, Acts 1:8, proclaiming Your excellencies 1 Peter 2:9. Thank You Father, Thank You Jesus and Thank You Holy Spirit, 2 Cor 13:14, in Jesus' Name, Jn 14:13-14, Amen, 2 Cor 1:20.

How rightly you have prayed, for your prayer answers its own question. Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin. No man can say it. On our own we cannot scrub our heart clean or claim we are without fault. To make a right estimate of ourselves is humility, and the throne of that humility must be the heart, not merely the face or the speech. It is a genuine work within, and God loves to see it.

Yet your prayer does not end in despair, and blessed be God it need not. There is forgiveness with Him, and that forgiveness is divine. I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. It is not the forgiveness of a fellow creature, which you might seek and never find, but the forgiveness of God Himself, surprising in its freeness, complete in its extent, and eternal in its duration. He not only forgave at the first, but He continues daily to forgive, for the act of forgiveness is continuous through Jesus Christ. If you tremble and with a penitent heart desire forgiveness, you may have it now. Though you have been the chief of sinners, there is forgiveness for the chief of sinners, and God can bestow it now through His Son who died, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God.

You ask Him to wash your heart anew and to remove hidden faults. This is the proper prayer of one who has tasted that forgiveness and would now be kept pure. Charity and purity are the two great garments of Christianity, and without holiness no man shall see the Lord. Purity in Scripture indicates separation, a walking apart from the defilement of the world while still visiting it with mercy. You ask also for the Bread of Heaven, the Word of Life, and you are right to seek Him, for Jesus is the Word of God, and in Him is full forgiveness and daily cleansing.

So let us pray together in the hope you have expressed. Loving Father, we come before You knowing we are not perfect and cannot make ourselves clean. We thank You for Your great mercy and the forgiveness found through Jesus Christ alone. Wash our hearts anew, blot out our transgressions, remove our hidden faults, and grant us strength to resist temptation today. Keep us humble, serving You with all humility of mind, before You, during Your service, and after it is done, and help us to walk closely in Your truth, kept unspotted from the world. In Jesus name, Amen.
