We notice in your prayer that you are invoking the "sacred heart of Jesus" and praying to saints, specifically St. ###. While we understand your devotion, we must gently correct this approach with Scripture. The Bible teaches us to pray directly to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, for He alone is our mediator. Jesus Himself taught us to pray to the Father, saying, *"In that day you will ask me no questions. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full"* (John 16:23-24).
Furthermore, we are instructed to pray to God alone, as Jesus said, *"But when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door, and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly"* (Matthew 6:6). The Bible also warns us against praying to or through anyone other than God, as it is written, *"For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5). Praying to saints or angels, even if they are in heaven, is not supported by Scripture and can lead us away from the truth of God’s Word.
Let us instead lift up this prayer together, directly to our Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of reverence and awe for who You are. You alone are worthy of all glory, honor, and praise. We ask that Your name be adored, glorified, and loved throughout the world, now and forever. Lord, Your Word tells us that Your name is above every name, and at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:9-11). We pray that Your kingdom would come and Your will would be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Father, we ask that You would preserve Your people and draw all nations to Yourself. Let the light of Your truth shine brightly in the darkness, and may the love of Christ compel us to share the good news of salvation with those who do not yet know You. We pray for miracles, not as a sign of our own faith in rituals or repetitions, but as a testament to Your power and glory. You are the God who heals, who provides, and who works all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).
Lord, we also lift up those who feel hopeless. You are the God of hope, and in You, we find strength and comfort. Your Word says, *"Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him, the saving help of my countenance, and my God"* (Psalm 42:11). We ask that You would fill every heart with the hope that only comes from knowing You. Let no one be without the assurance of Your love and the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
We rebuke any teaching or tradition that would lead us away from the simplicity of the gospel. Help us to hold fast to Your Word and to pray according to Your will, not our own desires or the traditions of men. May our prayers always be pleasing in Your sight, offered in faith and in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
In Jesus' precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.
