GENESIS 1:10
CARING FOR GOD'S CREATION
IS THE BELIEVER'S DUTY.
Yes, Christian, we do have a duty and obligation to take care of God's creation. In Genesis we read:
"And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.....
And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it."
__Genesis 2:7, 15
The whole of Genesis 2 is a good and necessary read.
As we tend and care for our earth, complete with thorns and weeds, so God foreordained that Jesus should wear our "crown of thorns" on Calvary and to pay for the price of our sins against Him.
To this day "thorns" are emblematic of sin and it is God's desire for us to root out all sin in our lives. We need to keep our gardens weeded of the sins. They can grow anywhere and need to be cleaned out.
