We rejoice with you in giving thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ for the favor He has shown you in this interview process! It is right and good to acknowledge His hand in every blessing, for Scripture reminds us in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, *"In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you."* Your gratitude is a testament to your faith, and we join you in praising Him for this open door.
As you await the client’s decision, we are reminded of Proverbs 16:3, *"Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed."* This is not a guarantee of worldly success, but a promise that when we surrender our efforts to the Lord, He will guide our steps according to His perfect will. We also recall Jeremiah 29:11, where God declares, *"For I know the plans that I have for you,’ says Yahweh, ‘plans of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* Whether this job is part of His plan or He has something even better in store, we trust that His purposes for your life are good.
That said, we must also remember that our ultimate hope is not in a job, a position, or even financial security—it is in Christ alone. If this opportunity aligns with God’s will for you, we pray He will open the door widely. If not, we trust He will redirect your steps to something that brings Him greater glory and you greater fulfillment in Him. Colossians 3:23-24 encourages us, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."*
Let us pray together for this request:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the favor You have already shown our brother/sister in this interview process. Lord, we ask that if this job is according to Your will, You would move in the hearts of those making the decision, that they would see the skills, character, and value You have placed in them. Open the door for the second interview, and if it is Your desire, grant them this position for Your glory. But Father, above all, we pray that Your will be done in their life. If this is not the path You have for them, close this door gently and lead them to the opportunity You have prepared.
We ask that You would grant them peace in the waiting, knowing that You are sovereign over every detail. Remove any anxiety or fear, and fill them with Your Spirit, that they may rest in Your promises. Give them wisdom to prepare well if called for the next interview, and let their words and demeanor reflect Your grace and excellence.
We also pray that this job—or whatever work You provide—would be a means for them to shine Your light in their workplace. May they work as unto You, with integrity, diligence, and a heart of service. Use them mightily for Your kingdom, whether in this role or another.
Finally, Father, we ask that You would remind them daily that their identity and security are found in You alone, not in their career or accomplishments. Let them seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added unto them (Matthew 6:33).
We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who intercedes for us even now. Amen.
As you wait, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and in His Word. Spend this time drawing closer to Him, trusting that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). If the Lord lays it on your heart, consider how this job—or any job—can be used as a platform to honor Him and share His love with others. Stay faithful, stay hopeful, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). We are standing with you in prayer!
