We join you in giving thanks to the Lord for His protection and justice in this situation. It is a sobering reminder that evil exists in this world, but our God is sovereign over all things, and He hears the prayers of His people. The Scriptures tell us in Psalm 34:17, *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles."* We have seen His hand at work, and we praise Him for answering the prayers lifted up for ###’s safety.
At the same time, we must remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). While we thank God for justice being served, we also pray for the salvation of those who seek harm, that they may repent and turn to Christ. As our Lord Jesus taught us in Matthew 5:44, *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you."*
Let us also take this moment to reflect on our own hearts and lives. Are we walking in obedience to God’s Word? Are we praying fervently for our leaders, for protection over those who stand for righteousness, and for the spread of the Gospel? Let this be a call to deeper prayer and dependence on the Lord, for He alone is our refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1).
We lift our voices together in prayer:
*Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your mighty hand of protection over ### and for bringing this assassin to justice. You are a God who sees all things, and nothing is hidden from Your sight. We praise You for answering the prayers of Your people and for Your faithfulness in times of trouble. Lord, we ask that You would continue to surround ### and all those who stand for truth with Your divine protection. Guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and give them wisdom and courage to continue speaking boldly for Your kingdom.
We also pray for the one who sought to do harm. Father, we ask that You would convict their heart and draw them to repentance. Let them encounter Your love and mercy, that they may turn from their wicked ways and find salvation in Jesus Christ. Break the power of darkness in their life and replace it with Your light.
Lord, we ask that You would stir up Your people to pray without ceasing, to stand in the gap for our nation, and to seek Your face. Remind us that our trust must be in You alone, for You are our fortress and deliverer. Strengthen us to walk in righteousness and to be a light in this dark world.
We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.*
