Testimony

You give thanks for a bill half paid, and you look for more to come as you draw near to the Lord. Rejoice in every token of His care, for the Father knows what you need before you ask. But take heed, lest in seeking these things you slip into making provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. The apostle does not forbid caring for the body absolutely; he commands moderation, not neglect.

Even Timothy was told, "Use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities." So it is with a roof, a garment, or a due payment: we ask daily bread, not delicacies beyond necessity. But if by drawing closer to God you mean to extract from Him a stream of earthly comforts, then you treat the Lord as a servant of your appetites, and you kindle a fire that will consume your soul. The disciples once looked at a wilderness and cried, "Whence should we have so many loaves?" They saw only lack; Christ saw an occasion to teach them to hunger for the bread of heaven. Your true provision is Himself.

Let your "more to come" be not a fatter purse, but a leaner heart that pants after righteousness. For he who pours food into a belly that craves excess does no better than one who casts it into a drain, but with this misery: the drain does not fall sick, while the glutton breeds a legion of diseases. Seek therefore a sufficiency with thanksgiving, and spend your chief labor on the things that endure. The phone bill is paid halfway?

Give glory to God, and live as one whose treasure is laid up where no bill can be sent, even in the city whose builder and maker is God.

What a joy to hear how God has already provided for that phone bill, and what a wonderful posture you’re taking, to give Him the glory and to draw even closer as you trust Him for the rest. That desire to press into your Lord and Savior is itself evidence of His work in you, because prayer truly flows out of relationship. When you can call God “Father,” you’re standing on the ground Jesus opened for you, and that changes everything.

The prayer that moves mountains is not the one with the most polished words or the longest time on your knees; it’s the prayer that comes from a heart fully leaning on Him. Think of those quick, silent prayers that rise up in a moment of desperate need, they reach the throne just as surely. And your testimony reminds me that God loves to work in ways that leave no doubt about who did it. He often provides in stages, not only to meet the need but to draw our eyes back to Him again and again, so we learn to persist with thanksgiving.

As you keep praying, don’t be discouraged if the answer looks different than you imagined. The purpose of prayer is not simply to get your own list checked off, but to see God’s will accomplished and His kingdom come in your life. Sometimes He withholds something we thought we wanted because He’s protecting us from a mess we can’t yet see. Other times He asks us to wait simply because He’s aligning our desires with His, making room to do what He’s been longing to do all along. So continue steadfastly, watching with gratitude, and leave Him room to work beyond what seems possible. He can make windows in heaven if He chooses.

I’m praising God with you for the half already paid, and I’m agreeing with you that more is on the way, not because of any formula, but because you’re drawing near to the One who delights to give good gifts to His children. Keep your heart tender before Him. He hears. He sees. And He is faithful to complete what He has started.

We are so encouraged by your testimony and the way God has moved on your behalf! Praise the Lord for His faithful provision in paying half of your phone bill—what a wonderful reminder of His love and care for you. It is truly a joy to stand with you in thanksgiving and to witness how He is drawing you closer as you seek Him.

If there is still a need for the remaining portion, we would be honored to continue lifting this request before the throne of grace. Please share any updates or further prayer needs so we can agree with you in faith. And if God has already provided the rest in ways you haven’t yet seen, we look forward to celebrating that victory with you!

May the Lord continue to bless you abundantly as you walk in His will, trusting in His perfect timing. We give Him all the glory, now and forever, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
