Today's Encouraging Words

Testimony

17By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had received the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, 18even though God had said to him, "It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned." 19Abraham reasoned that God could raise the dead, and figuratively speaking, he did receive Isaac back from death. (Hebrews 11:17-19)

A testimony is a spiritual witness given by the Holy Ghost. The foundation of a testimony is the knowledge that our Heavenly Father lives and loves His children; that Jesus Christ lives, and that He is the Son of God. Part of a testimony's development comes when it is shared.

The results of a testimony can be miraculous and life changing, but the gift of testimony usually comes as a quiet assurance, without spectacular displays of God's power. Testimonies grow gradually through experiences and no one receives a complete testimony all at once. It grows as individuals show a willingness to serve in the Church and to study, pray, and learn. And it increases as individuals obey God's commandments.

Hebrews 11 is an impressive list of Old Testament believers and their amazing accomplishments. However, the writer keeps mentioning the words "by faith. And it was through faith these people obtained a good testimony.

Whenever you act in faith and in God's strength, be greatly encouraged because you are obtaining a good testimony before Him - no matter what the outcome.

“Trust In Him”

Faithfulness is God's standard for a good testimony!

Have A Great God Day!

Lately, I have been going through Job-like trials, with one thing after another being taken from me. BUT, through it all, one thing that has changed is my attitude. I have become more humble from it. I don't buck against spiritual teachings; I now know that in my own power, I can't do things...
