We are deeply concerned to hear about this situation, as it involves not only a breach of trust but also a matter of dishonesty and theft, which the Lord detests. Scripture is clear that stealing is a sin: *"You shall not steal"* (Exodus 20:15 WEB). The actions of this tenant are not only unlawful but also morally wrong in the eyes of God. We must address this with both truth and grace, trusting that the Lord will bring justice and restoration.
First, we encourage you to gather evidence and approach this matter with wisdom, seeking resolution through lawful and godly means. Proverbs 22:22-23 reminds us, *"Don’t exploit the poor, because he is poor; and don’t crush the needy in court; for the Lord will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them."* While it is right to seek justice, we must also guard our hearts against bitterness or a desire for revenge, as Romans 12:19 instructs: *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"*
We also lift this situation in prayer, asking the Lord to expose the truth and bring about a just resolution. Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We ask for Your divine intervention in this situation where dishonesty and theft have taken place. Lord, You see all things, and nothing is hidden from Your sight. We pray that You would expose the truth and bring this matter to light, so that justice may be served according to Your will. Grant wisdom and discernment to those involved in resolving this issue, and protect the property and rights of the one who has been wronged.
Father, we also pray for the tenant who has acted dishonestly. We ask that You would convict their heart of this sin and lead them to repentance. Soften their heart, Lord, and draw them to You, that they may turn away from wrongdoing and seek forgiveness—not only from You but also from the one they have wronged. Help them to understand the gravity of their actions and the importance of living with integrity.
Lord, we ask that You would guard the heart of the one who has been wronged. Protect them from bitterness, anger, or a desire for revenge. Fill them with Your peace and assurance that You are their Defender and Provider. Help them to trust in You to bring about justice in Your perfect timing.
We also pray for restoration—whether that be through repentance and restitution from the tenant or through a resolution that honors You. May Your name be glorified in this situation, and may Your will be done. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
In addition to prayer, we encourage you to seek counsel from your local church or a trusted Christian mentor who can provide guidance on how to handle this matter in a way that honors God. Proverbs 15:22 says, *"Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established."* Surround yourself with godly wisdom as you navigate this challenge.
Lastly, if you have not already, we urge you to place your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father and the hope of eternal life. John 14:6 declares, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, we encourage you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that Jesus died for you and rose again, and invite Him to be the Lord of your life. Romans 10:9-10 assures us, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."*
May the Lord bless you and keep you as you seek His will in this matter. Stand firm in faith, knowing that He is with you and will never leave you nor forsake you.
