Tempted to speak bad things

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Hello,
I have some very challenging psychological issues, depression, PTSD, and also psychosis. I am not always sad, as the Lord is helping me, but in moments of desperation, fear, or hopelessness I am tempted to say bad things like: "I do not want to live anymore" or "I cannot go on." This is terrible, as I really want to fight as hard as possible to get completely healed and free and want to have a future. Please pray for me, that the Lord may forgive me, not keep me into this temptation anymore, and every door to the spirit of death is closed. I am really sorry, but in weak moments I feel so desperate. Please also pray, that my nervous system heals from all this trauma, that I find medication and therapy soon and do not isolate myself from friends and colleagues and that the Lord may heal me psychologically. Thank you very much.

We hear your cry for help and stand with you in prayer, lifting you up before the throne of grace where mercy and help are found in time of need. Your honesty about these struggles is a courageous step toward healing, and we want you to know that God sees your heart—He knows your desire to fight, to be free, and to walk in the future He has prepared for you. The temptations you face in moments of despair are real, but they do not define you. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke the spirit of death and hopelessness in the name of Jesus, for it has no place in your life. The Word declares, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly" (John 10:10 WEB). You are not alone in this battle, and your words of despair do not align with the truth of who God says you are.

First, we want to address the weight of the words you speak in moments of weakness. Scripture is clear that life and death are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21). While we understand these words come from a place of deep pain, we encourage you to guard your heart and your mouth, for out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks (Matthew 12:34). Even in your weakest moments, speak life over yourself, declaring the promises of God. When the enemy whispers lies of hopelessness, counter them with the truth of God’s Word. Jesus Himself was tempted in every way, yet without sin (Hebrews 4:15), and He understands the weight of your struggle. You are not forsaken, and your future is secure in Him.

We also want to gently remind you that healing—whether psychological, emotional, or physical—is a journey, and it is okay to seek help. The Lord often uses doctors, therapists, and medication as tools to bring restoration. Do not isolate yourself, for Scripture tells us, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 WEB). Reach out to trusted believers, friends, or professionals who can walk alongside you. Your nervous system can heal, and your mind can be renewed by the power of God’s Word and the work of the Holy Spirit.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is battling deep psychological wounds and the weight of despair. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who heals, and the God who restores. We ask that You would forgive any words spoken in moments of weakness and cleanse this dear one from all unrighteousness. Wash over them with Your mercy and grace, reminding them of Your unfailing love. We rebuke the spirit of death and hopelessness in Jesus’ name, and we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Close every door that the enemy has tried to open, and let Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard their heart and mind (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we ask for Your healing touch to restore their nervous system, renew their mind, and bring emotional wholeness. Lead them to the right medication, therapy, and support systems that will aid in their recovery. Surround them with godly friends and colleagues who will speak life, encouragement, and truth into their situation. Help them to resist isolation and to lean on You and Your people in times of weakness. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

Lord, fill them with hope for the future. Let them see that their story is not over, that You are writing a testimony of victory in their life. Strengthen their faith to believe that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). When the enemy whispers lies, let them stand on Your promises and declare Your truth over their life. We pray for complete freedom from depression, PTSD, and psychosis, and we trust You to bring breakthrough in every area. Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for the healing that is already on the way. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to meditate on these scriptures in your moments of struggle:
- "Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him: my Savior, my helper, and my God" (Psalm 42:11 WEB).
- "Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7 WEB).
- "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit" (Psalm 34:18 WEB).

You are not defined by your struggles, but by the One who holds you in His hands. Keep fighting, keep believing, and keep pressing into Jesus. He is your healer, your deliverer, and your ever-present help in times of trouble.

We're right here with you, friend. We know that sometimes, in the darkest moments, it feels like there's no way out, no light at the end of the tunnel. But remember, even the darkest night will pass, and the sun will rise again. You're not alone in this battle. We're fighting alongside you, and so is our Heavenly Father.

We want to encourage you to keep speaking life over yourself. When those negative thoughts creep in, remind yourself of who you are in Christ. You are a child of God, loved, valued, and cherished. You are a warrior, and you have the power to overcome these challenges. As it says in Romans 12:2, "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind."

Let's also remind you that healing is a journey, and it's okay to ask for help. There's no shame in seeking professional help, like a therapist or a doctor. They can be God's hands and feet in your healing process. And remember, we're here for you too. We're your brothers and sisters in Christ, and we're here to support you, to pray for you, and to walk alongside you.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we lift up our friend to You today. We ask for Your healing touch on their mind, their emotions, and their nervous system. We ask for complete freedom from depression, PTSD, and psychosis. We thank You for Your faithfulness and for the healing that is already on the way. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Keep fighting, keep believing, and know that you are deeply loved and cherished by your Heavenly Father and by us. You are not alone.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Be a Prayer Warrior: “Praying for others”

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer these past days. It has been our honor to lift your heart before the Lord, asking Him to guard your lips in moments of weakness and to fill your spirit with His peace that surpasses all understanding. We prayed that every door to the spirit of death would be sealed shut by the blood of Jesus, and that the Holy Spirit would strengthen you to resist every temptation to speak words of despair.

We also asked the Lord to heal your nervous system, to guide you to the right medication and therapy, and to draw you close to encouraging friends and colleagues so you would not walk this path alone. If any of these prayers have been answered—if you’ve felt a moment of unexpected peace, a surge of hope, or a tangible step toward healing—we would be so grateful to hear your praise report. Your testimony could be a light to others walking through similar valleys.

If the battle still rages and the temptations feel as strong as ever, please know we are not stepping away. Post your request again, and we will continue to stand in agreement with you, believing with you for complete freedom, restoration, and the future God has prepared for you. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and He will not abandon you in your weakness.

May He bless you with His presence, comfort you with His love, and fill you with fresh strength as you press into Him. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus.
