Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray for a situation where Satan is really trying to tempt me into sin, disobedience and to distract me from God's plan for my life. Pray for this situation to be overcome. Pray for removal of the person being used in the temptation (it is someone I was romantically involved with who is an unbeliever; I deeply care for this person but God has made it clear that this relationship is from Satan) from my life and that they would never contact me again. Thank you.

We hear your heart in this battle and we stand with you together before the Father in Jesus' name, asking for His strength and deliverance. We praise God that you recognize this temptation for what it is and that you desire obedience over desire, and God's plan over the enemy's distraction. That discernment is a gift from the Lord, and we pray you will continue to walk in it.

The enemy is cunning and will often use those we deeply care for to pull us away from God's best. Scripture warns us very clearly about this. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14. God calls us to pursue marriage as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman who are both in Christ, and any romantic involvement or courtship should be with that goal, to find a godly spouse who will help you grow toward Him. When we enter a romantic relationship with an unbeliever, we place ourselves directly in opposition to God's will, and it opens the door to further sin. If there has been any sexual intimacy in this relationship, we lovingly but firmly remind you that scripture calls sex outside of marriage fornication and we are commanded to flee sexual immorality. Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18. We urge you to repent of any part of this that has not honored God, and to receive His full forgiveness and cleansing.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and power over temptation. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved! Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9. It is in His mighty name that Satan must flee and temptation can be overcome.

We take comfort that God understands the weight of temptation and has promised help. No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13. Your way of escape now may be complete separation from this person. We agree with you in prayer that God would remove this source of temptation from your life according to His perfect will, and that you would have the courage to set firm boundaries, which may mean ending all contact, blocking communication, and asking trusted mature believers to hold you accountable. Guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life. Proverbs 4:23.

We also pray for this unbeliever whom you care for, that the Lord would have mercy on them and draw them to salvation in Christ, but that this work would be done apart from your romantic involvement, so that neither of you is led into further disobedience.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before You together in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our deliverer. We thank You for this dear one who desires to obey You and to follow Your plan. We ask You to forgive any sin and disobedience and to cleanse them by the blood of Jesus. Lord, we ask for Your supernatural strength to resist this temptation. Help them to submit therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7. Give them a hatred for sin and a deep love for Your holiness. Watch and pray, that you do not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit and with Your Word so that their mind is renewed and they may prove what is Your good and acceptable and perfect will. Romans 12:2. We ask in Jesus' name that You would close the door on this unequally yoked relationship completely. If it is Your will, remove this person from their life and stop all contact, and give them peace and freedom from distraction and torment. Break every emotional tie that is not from You and heal their heart. Lead them to a godly community and to accountability, and in Your timing, if it is Your will, lead them to a godly Christian spouse for a marriage that honors You. We also lift this unbeliever to You, Lord, that You would open their eyes to the truth of the gospel and save them. We trust Your plan, for we know Your thoughts toward us are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11. Keep this dear one steadfast, pure, and close to You. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to stay in the Word daily, to pray without ceasing, and to not walk this road alone. Share this struggle with a mature pastor or godly believer who can walk with you, keep you accountable, and remind you of truth when feelings grow strong. God will honor your obedience, and He will restore and strengthen you as you choose Him above all else.

We hear how hard this tension is for you, caring deeply for someone while also wanting to stay faithful to what you believe God is showing you. It makes sense that this feels distracting and heavy, and it took honesty to name it as temptation and ask for prayer.

Wanting distance right now is not a lack of love. Sometimes caring well means creating clear space so you can hear God clearly and make decisions without constant pressure. That space can also be kindness toward the other person.

One practical step that often helps in a season like this is to make the boundaries concrete and not carry them alone. If you have a trusted pastor, mentor, or mature friend who knows you, consider telling them what you are facing and asking them to check in with you regularly. And take a look at the everyday points of contact, messages, social media, places you might run into each other, and decide ahead of time how you will handle them so you are not having to make that choice in the moment when temptation is strongest.

We are praying for you and standing with you for strength and peace in this.

Father, we bring our brother before You and ask for Your protection over his heart and mind. Give him wisdom for each decision, strength to walk in obedience when temptation feels strong, and steady encouragement when he feels alone. Guard his steps and guide him into Your plan for his life, and work in both lives for healing and good according to Your will. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your honest and humble request has been heard and we join you in prayer before the throne of grace, thanking God for the work of conviction He has already done in your heart.

You have judged rightly concerning this relationship. The Scripture says, Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers, and to disregard that precept is not liberty but the exchanging of a yoke of wood for a yoke of iron. As one has said, whenever a child of God under pressure of temptation turns aside from the right path, he is made to feel that after he has broken the yoke of wood, he must wear a yoke of iron. You thought the yoke of Christ was hard when it called you to separate from this unequal yoking, but how much harder is the yoke of disobedience, of a divided heart and a distracted walk.

We pray with you as our Lord taught us, Lead us not into temptation. Temptation in itself is a dangerous thing, and though God can bring great benefit out of our being tried, for all temptation even when it comes from Satan is trial from God, yet it is right for the Christian to pray to be spared from it and to be kept from its mischief. We pray, Oh save him from the mischief of the temptation. Let him not stain his garments. Let him not slip nor slide, but may he stand fast at the end of the day.

We ask the Lord to give you grace to overcome evil and to overcome even as you look to Christ for all things. He who is your familiar Friend is alive and able to keep you. Remember that God had one Son without sin, but He never had a son without temptation. To be tempted is not sin. A man may be tempted and yet hate the temptation, and then there is no sin in it to him. The saints who are now in heaven were tempted in all points, yet they did not fall but held fast their integrity. So may it be with you.

We also pray as you have asked, that the Lord in His providence would remove this snare from your path and graciously prevent further contact, that you might be kept from distraction and be free to follow God's plan for your life with a whole heart. And we pray that you will not go into temptation, for the man who prays Lead us not into temptation and then goes into it is a liar before God. Therefore we ask for strength to make a clean and decisive separation, to flee where you once lingered, to shut the door that Satan would use, and to walk in the utmost consecration of spirit, knowing that even then temptation may come, but Christ has been tempted like as we are and knows how to deliver.

We pray for this unbeliever also, not that God would bless a relationship outside His will, but that God would have mercy upon that soul and bring that person to salvation through Jesus Christ alone, if it be His will, and that in all things Christ would be glorified.

May the Lord keep you, cleanse your heart from lingering affection that wars against your obedience, and fill you with love for Christ who alone can satisfy. May He lift this galling yoke from your neck, give you joy in His presence, and establish your steps in holiness. We pray that you would look to Jesus daily for all things and long for His appearing, and that He would keep you from falling and present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We thank you for sharing this burden with such honesty and for wanting to obey God even when it is painful.

We join you in prayer that God will give you strength to overcome this temptation and to walk in obedience to His plan for your life. Scripture assures us that no temptation has taken you but such as is common to man, and God is faithful. He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to bear, but with the temptation He will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. He gives patience and He brings deliverance, so that even this trial can become bearable as you look to Him.

God at times allows temptation to press upon us not to harm us, but to draw us to take refuge in Him and to remain close to Him in prayer. When we persevere in prayer, even when the answer seems delayed, He is shaping us and teaching us to abide in Him. Many who have gone before us won their crown through just such tribulations and temptations, learning to trust His faithfulness day by day.

We pray for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ who alone is our salvation, we ask for Your mercy and strength for Your child. You see this struggle and the deep care that is still felt for this other person. Grant clarity, courage and self control to flee from what would lead away from holiness. Make plain the way of escape that You have promised, and give grace to take it. Set firm boundaries and guard heart and mind. Remove what would entangle and distract from Your good purposes, and if it is Your will, prevent further contact that would reopen temptation. Fill the empty places with Your presence, with fellowship in Your church, and with hope in Your plan.

We also pray for the one who does not yet know You. Have mercy and draw that person to salvation through Jesus Christ alone. We do not ask You to bless a relationship outside of Your design, for we know that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and that sexual intimacy belongs within that covenant, but we do ask You to work in both lives for holiness and for Your glory.

Give daily grace to persevere in prayer, to stay rooted in Your Word, to seek wise and accountable counsel, and to trust that Your delay is not denial but Your loving work to keep us near You. Let this trial become a testimony of Your faithfulness and Your power to deliver.

We will continue to pray that the Lord keeps you, strengthens you to endure, and leads you fully into His will.
