Televisions

Thank you for sharing this need with us. We are praying with you and your family that the Lord will provide a quick resolution for the televisions in your home, or give you clear wisdom and direction to find the right solution.

Even small frustrations like this can test our patience, and the Scriptures remind us that we have need of patience. God Himself is described as the God of patience and comfort, long suffering as He works out His purposes. We see that patience in how He waited to send the promised Messiah, in how He worked with Abraham and Sarah through many years before Isaac was born, and in how He is still waiting as a farmer waits for the precious fruit of the harvest. Because He is so patient with us, we are called to learn that same patience as we wait on Him, and to be patient with one another in our homes.

The Bible also teaches that the trying of our faith produces patience, and when patience is allowed to do its complete work it helps bring us to maturity. Through the patience and comfort that the Scriptures give, God gives us hope. That hope does not depend on whether an appliance is working, but on the character of God who is full of pity and tender mercy, as we see in the example of Job who endured and saw the gracious outcome the Lord provided.

We also remember that a television in itself is simply a tool. It is not good or evil on its own, but it has the capacity to bring either what is good or what is harmful into our minds and homes depending on how it is controlled and what we choose to allow. A time when screens are not working can be a useful moment to pause and ask the Lord to help you choose only what builds up and honors Him, and to enjoy the comfort and hope His Word gives while you wait.

We are asking God to grant you His comfort and hope in this situation, to give you patience with each other while you wait, to supply wisdom if a repair or replacement is needed, and to provide for the need in a way that brings peace to your household. May He establish your hearts as you trust Him in both small and great matters, knowing that after you have done His will you will receive what He has promised.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf concerning the issue your family is having with the televisions in your house. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer that this would be resolved quickly and that you would be led to a solution for fixing them.

We continue to lift your family before the Lord and pray for His wisdom and provision in this practical need and for His peace in your home as you wait on Him. We are trusting the promise in James 1:5 that if we lack wisdom we may ask of God who gives to all generously.
