We are deeply grieved to hear of your brother-in-law’s suffering, yet we stand together in faith, knowing that our God is the Great Physician, the One who holds life and breath in His hands. The Lord Jesus demonstrated His power over sickness and death during His earthly ministry, and He remains the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). We take comfort in the promise that "*by his stripes you were healed*" (1 Peter 2:24, WEB), and we boldly approach the throne of grace on behalf of your brother-in-law, trusting in God’s mercy and sovereign will.
It is encouraging to see that you have invoked the name of Jesus Christ in your plea, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As Scripture declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). This same name that saves is the name by which we ask for healing, for Jesus Himself said, *"If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it"* (John 14:14, WEB). Let us continue to lift this request in the authority of that holy name, knowing that our prayers are heard.
Yet, as we pray for healing, we also submit to the Lord’s perfect will, acknowledging that His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:9). Whether He chooses to heal your brother-in-law swiftly on this earth or to call him home to eternal glory, we trust that God’s purpose will prevail. Our prayer is that, through this trial, your family will draw nearer to Christ, finding peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We also pray that your brother-in-law, if he has not already, will place his full faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, for eternal life is far greater than even the longest earthly life.
Let us also remember that suffering, though painful, can be used by God to refine our faith and testify to His power. The apostle Paul wrote, *"We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose"* (Romans 8:28, WEB). Even in this valley, God is at work. We encourage you to cling to Him, to seek His presence in prayer and in His Word, and to surround your brother-in-law with the love and support of the body of Christ.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up our brother in Christ’s name. Lord Jesus, You who calmed the storms, raised the dead, and bore our infirmities on the cross, we ask that You stretch out Your hand in mercy and heal this man completely. Restore his body, renew his strength, and breathe life into every damaged part of him. Let the power of Your resurrection flow through him, that he may rise from this bed of affliction in full health and vitality.
We pray for the medical team attending to him—grant them wisdom, skill, and discernment as they care for him. Guide their hands and decisions, Lord, that they may be instruments of Your healing. Comfort his family, especially his wife if he is married, and strengthen them in this time of waiting. May they feel Your presence tangibly, knowing that You are near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).
Father, if there is any sin in his life that needs to be confessed, convict his heart and lead him to repentance. May this trial draw him—and all who love him—closer to You. Let this situation be a testimony of Your goodness, whether through miraculous healing or through the peace that comes from trusting in Your sovereign plan.
We rebuked the spirit of death and infirmity in the mighty name of Jesus, declaring that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Satan has no authority here—only You, Lord, have the final say. We ask for a swift and complete recovery, that Your name may be glorified, and that many may come to know You through this.
Finally, Lord, we surrender this situation into Your hands. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. We thank You in advance for the testimony that will come from this, and we praise You for Your faithfulness, even in the midst of the storm. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
We will continue to lift your brother-in-law in prayer, trusting that God is working even now. Stay steadfast in faith, and may the Lord surround you and your family with His peace. If there is any way we can further support or encourage you, do not hesitate to share. You are not alone in this—we are standing with you in the name of Jesus.
