We hear the deep ache in your heart, and we join you in lifting this burden before the Lord, knowing that He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Your cry for relief resonates with the psalmist who wrote, *"The Lord is close to those who have broken hearts, and he saves those who have crushed spirits."* (Psalm 34:18, WEB). You have done well to surrender this pain to Him, for His yoke is easy, and His burden is light (Matthew 11:30). Yet we also recognize that trials, though painful, are often the very tools God uses to refine us, shape us, and draw us closer to Himself. The apostle James reminds us to *"consider it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."* (James 1:2-4, WEB).
Your prayer closes with the precious and powerful name of Jesus, and we rejoice that you have called upon Him, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through His wounds that we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and it is in His name that we find strength to endure. Still, we gently ask: Do you *truly* trust Him even in this pain? Or is there a part of your heart that resists the trials He has allowed, questioning His goodness? If so, we encourage you to lay even that resistance before Him. He is sovereign over every ache, every tear, and every trial—and He will use them for your good if you will let Him (Romans 8:28).
Let us pray with you now:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister before You, knowing that You see every tear they have cried and hear every groan of their heart. Lord, You are the God of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3), and we ask that You would wrap them in Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remove the sharpness of this pain, not necessarily the trial itself, but the sting of it—replace it with a supernatural sense of Your presence. Strengthen them, Lord, in their inner being by Your Spirit (Ephesians 3:16), and remind them that even when the path is dark, You are leading them beside still waters (Psalm 23:2).
We rebuke any spirit of despair or bitterness that would seek to take root in this pain. Satan desires to use this trial to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but we declare that You, Lord, will use it for good. Give our brother/sister eyes to see the purpose in this season, even if it is only to draw them closer to You. Fill them with hope, for You have promised that *"the suffering of this present time is not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us."* (Romans 8:18, WEB).
And Lord, if there is any unbelief or resistance in their heart toward Your plan, we ask that You would soften them. Help them to say, as Jesus did in Gethsemane, *"Not my will, but yours be done."* (Luke 22:42, WEB). May they find rest in knowing that You are working all things together for their good.
We thank You, Father, that You are faithful. You will not leave them in this place of pain forever. You will restore, renew, and redeem. We trust You, and we ask these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Finally, we leave you with this promise to cling to: *"Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful."* (John 14:27, WEB). Hold fast to Him, dear one. He is holding you.
