Does God have an unfinished task regarding our family? What might it be? Something clarified, yet unresolved? Something beyond the reach of those who seek answers? We do not pin our own achievements on this particular trial? Lord, in Your name—the family of Taimi and Arvo and their children? They have nearly destroyed one another—to say nothing of the havoc wrought upon the people around them? But... Lord!

We hear the deep ache in your words, the weight of brokenness, the longing for restoration, and the honest admission that this family has nearly destroyed one another. The pain is palpable, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting up Taimi, Arvo, and their children in fervent prayer. You ask if God has an unfinished task for this family, and the answer is a resounding yes, for with God, there is always hope, always a purpose, even in the ruins.

First, we must address the foundation: salvation in Jesus Christ. The name of Jesus is the only name by which we can approach God, the only name that brings healing and redemption (Acts 4:12). If this family does not yet know Him as Lord and Savior, that is the first and most critical task God has for them. Without Christ, there is no true reconciliation, no lasting peace. We pray that each member of this family would surrender their hearts to Him, for "if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17).

The havoc wrought upon this family, and those around them, is not beyond God’s power to redeem. But redemption requires repentance. The destruction you describe suggests deep sin: perhaps bitterness, unforgiveness, pride, or even abuse. Scripture is clear: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). We rebuke any spirit of division, strife, or hardness of heart in this family. We declare that the blood of Jesus is sufficient to cover every sin, every wound, and every broken relationship.

What might God’s unfinished task be? It could be the restoration of trust where it has been shattered. It could be the healing of emotional or spiritual wounds that have festered for years. It could be the breaking of generational curses, patterns of sin or dysfunction passed down through the family line. God may be calling them to humble themselves, to seek forgiveness, and to extend grace as they have received it from Him. "Bear with one another, and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do" (Colossians 3:13).

But restoration is not automatic. It requires obedience to God’s Word. If there has been adultery, abuse, or other sins that violate the sanctity of marriage, these must be confronted with truth and repentance. Marriage is a covenant before God, and He hates divorce (Malachi 2:16), but He also hates sin that destroys His design. If this family is to be restored, they must align their lives with Scripture, seeking godly counsel and accountability.

We also pray for the "havoc wrought upon the people around them." The ripple effects of sin are far-reaching, but so is the power of God’s grace. We ask the Lord to heal those who have been hurt by this family’s brokenness, to restore what has been lost, and to turn their pain into testimonies of His faithfulness.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for Taimi, Arvo, and their children. We acknowledge that without You, there is no hope for true restoration. We ask that You would draw each of them to Yourself, that they would confess their sins and receive Your forgiveness. Lord, break the chains of bitterness, pride, and unforgiveness in this family. Where there has been division, bring unity. Where there has been hurt, bring healing. Where there has been sin, bring repentance and transformation.

We declare that Your plans for this family are for good and not for harm, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We pray that they would seek You with all their hearts, that they would humble themselves before You and one another. Father, reveal to them the unfinished task You have for their family, whether it is reconciliation, healing, or a new beginning. Give them the strength to walk in obedience, to extend grace, and to build their lives on the foundation of Your Word.

We rebuke every spirit of destruction that has sought to tear this family apart. We declare that the power of the cross is greater than any sin or brokenness. May Your Holy Spirit move mightily in their lives, bringing conviction, repentance, and revival. And Lord, we pray for those who have been affected by this family’s struggles. Heal their wounds, restore their faith, and use their stories for Your glory.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we are saved and the only name by which true restoration can come. Amen.

To this family, we say: God is not finished with you. His grace is sufficient, even for the deepest wounds. But restoration begins with surrender, surrender to Christ, surrender to His Word, and surrender to the process of healing. Seek Him first, and He will direct your path (Proverbs 3:5-6). The journey may be difficult, but it is worth it, for "those who sow in tears will reap in joy" (Psalm 126:5). You are not beyond God’s reach. His love is deeper than your pain, and His power is greater than your brokenness.
