Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my surgeon and my surgery on my parathyroid glands. I have to have one more scan and meet the surgeon and then schedule surgery soon I hope. I really want to be better. Please pray for my visit to the DMV on Monday to straighten out my car situation once and for all. And please pray for my adult son who is a drug addict consumed by rage. He yells and screams profanities all day. He is also a victim of police brutality. He's been in some trouble with the law. He desperately needs salvation and deliverance from the Lord Jesus Christ. It's really difficult because he lives with me and I am unable to calm him down. Thanks so much for your prayers.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up each of these burdens to our Heavenly Father, who hears the cries of His children and works all things together for good for those who love Him. First, we pray for your upcoming surgery on your parathyroid glands. Father, we ask that You guide the hands of the surgeons with wisdom and precision, granting them clarity and skill as they prepare and perform this procedure. Lord, we declare Your healing power over this dear sister, trusting that You are the Great Physician who restores health and brings wholeness. Prepare her heart and mind for each step of this process, the scans, the consultations, and the surgery itself. Give her peace that surpasses all understanding, knowing that You hold her in Your hands. We pray also for her visit to the DMV, that every detail would be resolved smoothly and without frustration. May Your favor go before her, Lord, making a way where there seems to be no way.

But our hearts ache most deeply for your son, Lord. We lift him up to You, broken and bound by addiction, rage, and the chains of the enemy. Father, we rebuke the spirits of addiction, anger, and violence that have taken hold of him in the mighty name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Lord, we pray for a supernatural intervention, a divine encounter with Your love and power that breaks every stronghold. Soften his heart, Holy Spirit, and draw him to repentance and salvation. We pray for protection over him, both from the dangers of his own actions and from any unjust treatment he may face. Surround him with godly influences, Lord, and place people in his path who will speak truth and life into him.

We also lift up this mother’s home, Lord. The atmosphere of rage and profanity is not Your will for any household. We pray for a hedge of protection around her, that she would not be overwhelmed by the weight of this situation. Give her strength, wisdom, and discernment in how to respond to her son. Help her to set godly boundaries while still extending Your love and grace. Father, we ask that You would fill her home with Your peace, even in the midst of the storm. Let Your presence be so tangible that it silences the chaos and brings a spirit of calm.

Lord, we know that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). We pray that this son would come to know You as his Lord and Savior, that he would repent of his sins and turn to You for deliverance. We declare that if he confesses with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and believes in his heart that God raised Him from the dead, he will be saved (Romans 10:9). We stand on this promise, Lord, and we ask that You would move mightily in his life. Break the chains of addiction, Lord, and replace his rage with Your peace. Heal his wounds, both physical and emotional, and restore him to wholeness in You.

We also pray for justice, Lord, regarding the police brutality he has endured. You are a God who sees and knows all things, and we trust that You will bring truth to light and vindicate the oppressed. We ask that You would work in the hearts of those in authority, that they would act with integrity and fairness.

Father, we thank You for the privilege of standing in the gap for this family. We trust that You are at work, even when we cannot see it. Strengthen this mother’s faith, Lord, and remind her that You are her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We declare that Your grace is sufficient for her, and Your power is made perfect in her weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). May she find rest in You, Lord, and may Your peace guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

In the precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Oh Lord, we’re feeling the weight of this mom’s heart right now, it’s heavy with love and fear, but also with hope that You’re moving in every detail. Let’s pray for her surgeon specifically, that not only would their hands be steady and their mind sharp, but that they would feel Your peace covering them as they prepare for this procedure. Lord, we know You see the little things, the scans, the paperwork, the nerves, so please give her clarity and calm as she navigates this process. And when Monday comes, we ask for Your favor to shine on that DMV visit, that every step would go smoothly, and that she’d leave feeling like You’ve already begun to work things out for her good.

Now, for her son, our hearts break for him. Lord, we see the storm in his life, but we also see You standing at the center of it. We’re praying for a breakthrough, Father, something supernatural that would turn his rage into repentance and his fear into faith. Help him to hear Your voice above the chaos, to feel Your love cutting through the lies of addiction and bitterness. And Lord, we’re asking for protection, not just for him, but for this mom too. Give her strength to set boundaries with love, and surround her with people who can walk beside her without judgment. May Your presence be so real in her home that even in the loudest moments, she’d feel Your stillness.

And for justice, Lord, we trust You see every injustice done to him. Work in the hearts of those in authority, and let Your truth prevail. But more than that, we’re praying for his heart to soften, to finally rest in You, where there’s no more screaming, no more shame, and no more chains. We stand on Your promise that if he’ll turn to You, You’ll save him.

We’re praying for this mom’s faith to be strengthened, that she’d know You’re right there with her, holding her up. And Lord, we’re asking for Your peace to guard her heart, because we know You’ve got this. In Jesus’ name, we trust You’re working all things together for good. Amen.
