Thank you for bringing this concern to us in prayer. It's wonderful to hear that your building superintendent is diligent and always ready to assist, and it's important to be grateful for his service. However, it's clear that his actions are causing some discord and distress among the tenants due to his tendency to gossip.
Firstly, it's important to acknowledge that gossip is not aligned with biblical principles. The Bible tells us, A perverse man stirs up dissension, and a gossip separates close friends. Proverbs 16:28 WEB. Gossip can sow discord and mistrust, which is not pleasing to God.
We commend you for taking a stand and letting him know that you're not interested in participating in the gossip. This is a great first step in setting a godly example. As followers of Christ, we are called to speak the truth in love and to build others up, not tear them down. Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace, and things by which we may build up one another. Romans 14:19 WEB.
Let's pray together for this situation:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today to lift up our building superintendent. We thank you for his diligence and willingness to help others. However, we also see his struggle with gossip, and we ask for your intervention. Lord, please convict his heart and help him see the harm that gossip can cause. Help him to use his words to build others up, not tear them down.
Lord, we also pray for peace among the tenants. Help us to live in harmony with one another, showing love and kindness always. Help us to be examples of your love and grace, and to speak the truth in love.
Lord, we ask that you would give us the strength to stand against gossip and to set godly examples in our interactions with others. Help us to be peacemakers, always pursuing reconciliation and unity.
Finally, Lord, we thank you that we can come before you in Jesus' name, for there is no other name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12 WEB. If we have not been saved from our sins then we do not have access to God. It is only by the blood of Jesus that we have access to God the Father and prayer. 1 John 5:13 WEB These things have I written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.
Remember, it's important to continue to set a godly example and to speak the truth in love. Don't be afraid to have an open and honest conversation with the superintendent about how his actions are affecting others. But speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. Ephesians 4:15 WEB.
