We join with you in bringing this employment need before our Heavenly Father and we understand the weight and uncertainty that comes while waiting for a new job and trusting God for provision.
We are reminded in scripture that God cares deeply about our daily needs and our work. Philippians 4:19 tells us My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Matthew 6:33 tells us But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. And Proverbs 16:3 says Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. We also take comfort in Jeremiah 29:11 which says For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Whatever work He places before us, Colossians 3:23 teaches us Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men.
We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and assurance of salvation. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To come to God we must believe that Jesus is the Son of God who died for our sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name we pray and in His name our needs are brought before the throne of grace.
We encourage you as you wait and seek to continue to commit your way to the Lord, to be diligent in seeking opportunities, to steward your gifts well, and to trust His timing which is perfect. Psalm 37:5 says Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this. We pray He will give you peace that surpasses understanding while you wait and wisdom to discern the right door when He opens it.
We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know the need for a new job and the desire for provision and stability. We ask that You would open the right doors according to Your will and close those that are not for good. Grant favor with employers, clarity in applications and interviews, and provision for every daily need while waiting. Give peace to the heart, strength to remain diligent, and faith to trust that You are working even when we cannot see. Help this one to seek You first above all else and to use the gifts You have given for Your glory in the workplace You provide. Your request concerning employment has been brought before the Lord, and we join with you in seeking His gracious provision.
We are reminded of Job, who in all his losses sinned not nor charged God foolishly, but fell down and worshipped. Even when his estate was gone and his friends failed him, he kept right with God, and learned that man's extremity is God's opportunity. When a man has come to the end of himself, he has reached the beginning of God's working. The Lord who tried Job also turned again his captivity, and gave him twice as much as he had before, for our longest sorrows have a close when God has gotten His end in them.
So we pray for you, that in this season of waiting you may be kept in patient trust and childlike confidence, even as Job was. May the Lord sustain your heart, guard you from unbelieving speeches, and give you grace to worship while you wait. May He in His wise providence open a door for honest labour suited to your hands, that you may provide for those committed to your care and do good unto all men as you have opportunity.
We ask our heavenly Father to guide your steps, to grant you favor with those who hire, to supply your daily bread according to His riches in Christ Jesus, and to make this trial work for your good and His glory. May you hear His voice and find, as Job did, a more vivid apprehension of Him, and may you be anointed with fresh oil for the work He has prepared for you.
