Summary (due to privacy): Prayer request related to employment or work situation.

Dhitlor

Good and Faithful Servant
My job recently added new responsibilities to my and my coworkers' role and these responsibilities are A LOT. Myself and those who trained with me are all very concerned. We are also not being paid more for doing these new responsibilities. Please pray about this. Thank you.

We hear your concern and understand the weight of the added responsibilities you and your coworkers are carrying. The Bible tells us in Colossians 3:23, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men." While this verse encourages us to work diligently, it does not mean we should be taken advantage of or burdened unfairly. It is important to remember that our work should be done with integrity and in a manner that honors God, but we also have a right to fair treatment and compensation.

We want to lift this situation up in prayer, asking the Lord to provide wisdom, guidance, and favor for you and your coworkers.

Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up this situation at work. Lord, we know that You see the added burdens and responsibilities that have been placed upon these workers. We ask that You would grant them wisdom and discernment as they navigate this season. Father, we pray for fair treatment and just compensation for the work they are doing. Provide them with the strength and endurance to fulfill their duties with excellence, and let their labor be a testimony to Your goodness and provision. Lord, if it is Your will, open doors for better opportunities where their skills and efforts are valued and rewarded. We trust in Your timing and Your plan, knowing that You are their ultimate Provider. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

In addition to prayer, we encourage you to seek godly counsel and wisdom in addressing this matter with your employer. Proverbs 15:22 says, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." Consider speaking with a trusted mentor, pastor, or even a professional in human resources to explore the best way to approach this situation.

We also want to remind you that while work is important, it should not consume your life or become a source of constant stress and anxiety. Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:33-34, "But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient." Trust in the Lord to provide for your needs and remember that your worth is not defined by your job or your salary.

Lastly, we encourage you to pray for your coworkers and the leadership at your workplace. Pray that God would soften hearts and bring about a resolution that honors Him and treats everyone fairly. Philippians 2:3-4 reminds us, "Doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself; each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others." Let your actions and words be a reflection of Christ’s love, even in challenging circumstances.

We can only imagine the weight of seeing new responsibilities pile on without any recognition or compensation, and facing that alongside coworkers who share your concern. It’s draining and can feel deeply unfair. The stress you’re carrying is real, not just because of the extra work but because it touches something personal: being valued and secure in a role you’ve probably done well for some time.

We’ve seen others in similar spots realize that while they couldn’t change the situation overnight, they could shift how they carried it inside. That didn’t eliminate the hard conversations or the extra workload, but it helped them find their footing again so the anxiety didn’t keep eating away at their peace. Sometimes the first step is simply naming what’s happening, not just venting, but calmly noting the impact together with your coworkers, and then deciding what, if anything, you can do as a team to seek a fair outcome. Even if options feel limited, just not suffering in isolation reduces the load.

In the midst of it, please don’t neglect your own need for recovery. Step away during breaks, protect your nights, and give your mind space to rest in God’s care. The lack of a pay increase stings, but your wellbeing isn’t on hold until things get resolved. He sees the injustice and your effort, and He doesn’t stand aloof when His people are under pressure.

Let’s pray:

Father, for this one and their coworkers, we ask for steady hearts and clear minds. Give them wisdom to navigate the workplace with integrity and courage, and grant them favor if it pleases You to bring a just resolution. Sustain their energy in the meantime, and remind them that their worth rests in You alone. In Jesus’ name, amen.

The weight of new duties laid upon your shoulders is felt keenly, and it is no small thing when toil increases without earthly recompense. Yet remember, this present pressure is but a part of that common load which every man must bear. Our Lord does not promise that the yoke of this life will be easy in itself, only His own yoke is easy and His burden light. That burden which He gives is not the toil of the hand alone, but the sweet constraint of learning of Him, the meek and lowly One. When Christ is with you, the heaviest earthly task can become light, for He strengthens the inner man with His own omnipotence to be your succor.

This trial may be the very yoke that is good to bear, even if it galls the shoulder for a season. Before you think too much on the lack of added wages, consider whether this might be a schooling in patience and a call to cast yourself more fully upon the Father. To a Christian, a fault is a burden, but even the weariness of labor can be turned to gold if it drives you to prayer. Bear the burden of your daily work, not sitting upon it in fretfulness, but carrying it in the strength of God. And take care not to add to your load by bearing the imaginations of tomorrow. Go step by step, and prove in the doing that His grace is sufficient.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

When new burdens press upon you and the compensation seems lacking, remember that your true treasure is not in silver and gold, but in the kingdom where increase never ceases. Earthly wages are fleeting and lose their savor with use, but the reward laid up for the faithful grows richer with every trial patiently endured. It is not the labor of your hands that supplies your needs, but the providence of God, who gives the increase even when human sources fail. So do not fix your gaze on what you are not receiving, lest you become like those whose hands are ready for gain but not for helping, each anxious only to add to his stores. Such anxiety brings no relief, only a deeper poverty of soul.

Instead, gather together with your coworkers who share this affliction, and make your petition known to God with earnest prayer, for where two or three are assembled in His name, there is Christ in their midst. Let no one steal the prize of a contented heart by a false humility that keeps silent in complaint, nor by a swelling of anger that holds fast no longer to the Head, Christ, from whom the whole body, being knit together, grows with a growth that is from God. Your concern is not unworthy, but let it drive you not to murmuring but to mutual intercession, for the Maker alone can heal both your spirits and your circumstances, often working not by sudden miracles but by gradual strengthening of your inner man.

And if the devil seeks to use this added weight to crush you with despair, remember: many fall into ruin not chiefly by his plots but by their own surrender to resentment. The evil one needs no great doorway when we ourselves open the gate of despondency. Job lost all, yet gained more than he lost, because he did not curse the burden but blessed the Burden-bearer. So let your trial become the training ground for patience, for when we suffer unjustly and do not repay evil for evil, our chastisement here becomes lighter than the unbearable torments of hell, and our light affliction produces an eternal weight of glory.

Therefore I join my prayer to yours: that God may multiply your endurance, that this care may be sanctified, and that you may count it all joy as you share in the fellowship of Christ’s sufferings. He took the form of a servant and received no earthly wage; shall the disciple be above the Master? Let your workplace become a place of witness, where the peace that surpasses understanding guards your hearts. Cease from anxious calculation, for life has no end yonder, and its blessings, unlike these, will never diminish but only increase forevermore.

The weight you are carrying right now is real, and it is not small. When new burdens are laid on your shoulders without any recognition or provision, it stirs up weariness and a deep sense of injustice. What you and your coworkers are feeling is understandable. Responsibilities have increased, the load is heavier, and yet the earthly reward has not moved at all. It feels like the ground has shifted under you, and no one is paying attention to the strain.

In times like these, it is easy for voices to whisper that you must have done something to deserve this, or that somehow you brought this on yourself. That kind of thinking has been around for ages, and it misses how God actually works. Suffering and hardship are not always paychecks for our failures. Sometimes we find ourselves in a story we cannot understand, carrying a weight we did not choose. But God is not blind to it. He sees the unfairness. He sees you. The scope of what reaches your life is never beyond His notice or outside His permission. That does not make the load feel light in the moment, but it means you are not alone under it.

When the path ahead looks hard and the days feel like they are fleeing by, swifter than a messenger, it is tempting to wonder if there is any hope or way through. The cry of the heart becomes, "Is there someone who can stand between me and all of this? Someone who understands both my side and God's side?" And here is where Jesus Christ meets you directly. He is no distant observer. He entered into our labor, our weariness, our unfair treatment. He knows what it is to be pressed down and unappreciated. And now He stands as the one mediator, fully able to lay His hand on you in your struggle and on the Father who cares for you. There is real hope there, not just for the future, but for strength right now.

Bring this before the Lord honestly. Tell Him how heavy it is. Ask for His wisdom, for His provision, and for His peace to guard your heart and mind. He is not wringing His hands over your situation. He is not punishing you. And He promises to supply every real need. I will pray with you that God would make a way, that He would uphold you and your coworkers, and that He would bring about what is right and just, in His time and in His way.
