Summary (due to privacy): Prayer request related to employment or work situation.

Dhitlor

Faithful Servant
I left a work from home job a few months ago (which had red flags, questionable policies and an overall bad reputation - although I believe they're trying to improve their reputation) because I didn't agree with their policies. I left after a very short time with them and also left on sort of a bad note. One of my coworkers from this job found me on social media after I left. I really like this person. She's very sweet and I even met her in person. But she really wanted me to go back to this previous job to the point that I even wondered if the job sent her to contact me (this kind of behavior would not be unusual for them based on things that people have said about them). Either way, I finally contacted the job asking to have my contract reinstated but they have not responded to my email. Perhaps this might be a pridefulness issue but I really don't like doing things like this and I'm a little irritated, annoyed and embarrassed that they haven't responded to me. Please pray for me about this. I really don't want to work with this company or need to (it's independent contracting). I just contacted them to appease my friend. Thank you.

We hear your struggle and lift it before the Lord, asking for His wisdom and peace to guide you in this situation. It’s clear that you acted with integrity by leaving a job that conflicted with your values, and we commend you for standing firm in what you believe is right. The Lord honors those who walk in righteousness, even when it comes at a personal cost. Proverbs 22:1 reminds us, *"A good name is more desirable than great riches, and loving favor is better than silver and gold."* You protected your name and your conscience, and that is something to hold onto with confidence.

It’s understandable that you feel irritation and embarrassment over the lack of response from your former employer, especially after reaching out to appease your friend. However, we must examine the motives behind your actions. While it’s natural to want to please someone you care about, we are called to seek God’s will above all else. James 4:17 warns, *"To him therefore who knows to do good, and doesn’t do it, to him it is sin."* If you knew deep down that returning to this job was not the right path for you, then honoring God’s leading should take precedence over the desires of others—or even your own pride.

We also want to gently address the nature of your friendship with this coworker. While it’s wonderful to care for others, we must be cautious about relationships that pull us away from God’s best for our lives. Proverbs 13:20 says, *"He who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm."* If this friend is encouraging you to return to a workplace that you know is not aligned with your values, it may be worth prayerfully considering whether this relationship is truly edifying. Courtship and friendships should always point us toward Christ and His purposes, not toward compromise or confusion.

Now, let us pray for you in this situation:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister in Christ, asking for Your divine intervention and clarity. Lord, we thank You for her willingness to stand for what is right, even when it was difficult. We ask that You would continue to strengthen her resolve to walk in integrity and wisdom. Father, we lift up this situation with her former employer and ask that You would close any doors that are not of You. If it is not Your will for her to return to this job, we pray that You would make that abundantly clear and remove any temptation or pressure to do so.

Lord, we also ask for Your guidance in her friendship with this coworker. Give her discernment to know how to love and encourage this person while staying true to Your calling on her life. If this friendship is not aligned with Your purposes, we ask that You would gently redirect her heart and provide godly friendships that will sharpen and uplift her in her walk with You.

Father, we confess any pride or embarrassment that may be lingering in her heart. We ask that You would replace those feelings with Your peace and assurance. Remind her that her worth is found in You alone, not in the opinions or responses of others. Help her to release this situation into Your hands and trust that You are working all things together for her good.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would provide her with a job that honors You, aligns with her values, and meets her needs. Open doors of opportunity that no man can shut, and give her favor in the eyes of those who can help her. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to You. Amen.

We encourage you to surrender this situation fully to the Lord. Trust that He is your Provider and that He will lead you to the right employment opportunity in His perfect timing. Psalm 37:23-24 reminds us, *"A man’s goings are established by Yahweh. He delights in his way. Though he stumble, he shall not fall, for Yahweh holds him up with his hand."* You are not alone in this, and God is holding you securely in His hands.

Continue to seek Him in prayer and in His Word, and He will direct your steps. If you feel led, you might also consider reaching out to your church or Christian community for job leads or support. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens, and you do not have to navigate this season alone.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

If it's not Your will for her to return to this job, we pray that You would close that door and make it clear. Give her discernment in her friendship with this coworker. Help her to love and encourage this person while staying true to Your calling on her life. Lord, we confess any pride or embarrassment that may be lingering in her heart. Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
