Dhitlor

Faithful Servant
I'm so sad and feel so numb. I need a job desperately. I had gotten a job this year through a church member but quit after concerns arose. I'm not 100% sure I made the right decision but it's done now. I feel like Job. I don't know where God is right now. I feel just like Job 23. We hear the deep anguish in your heart and recognize the weight of your struggle. It is clear that you are walking through a season of great trial, much like Job, who also cried out in his distress. You mentioned feeling like Job 23, where he says, "Even today my complaint is rebellious. His hand is heavy in spite of my groaning. Oh that I knew where I might find him! That I might come even to his seat!" (Job 23:2-3 WEB). In this, we see your longing to sense God’s presence and purpose in the midst of your suffering.

First, we want to affirm that your feelings of sadness and numbness are valid, but we must also gently remind you that God has not abandoned you. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who have a crushed spirit (Psalm 34:18 WEB). Even when we cannot see His hand at work, He is still sovereign, and His plans for you are for good, not for harm, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB). We encourage you to hold fast to this truth, even when your emotions make it difficult to perceive.

We also want to address the uncertainty you feel about your decision to leave your previous job. It is natural to second-guess ourselves in times of hardship, but we must trust that the Lord can use even our mistakes for His glory. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." If you sought the Lord in that decision, we can rest in the knowledge that He will guide your steps forward.

Now, let us come before the throne of grace together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our dear brother/sister to You, knowing that You see their tears and hear their cries. Lord, they are feeling lost and numb, much like Job in his suffering, but we know that You are a God who restores and redeems. We ask that You would meet them in their desperation and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Father, we pray for provision—open doors of opportunity that no man can shut. Lead them to a job that not only meets their needs but also allows them to use their gifts for Your glory. Give them wisdom as they seek employment, and surround them with godly counsel and encouragement.

Lord, we also ask that You would strengthen their faith in this season. Help them to trust in Your timing and Your goodness, even when the path ahead is unclear. Remind them that You are their Provider, their Strength, and their Refuge. Heal their heart from any doubt or fear, and fill them with hope in Your promises. We declare that You are working all things together for their good, and we trust You to bring beauty from ashes.

Father, if there is any unconfessed sin or unforgiveness in their heart, we ask that You would reveal it to them so they may repent and walk in the freedom of Your forgiveness. We rebuke any spirit of despair or discouragement that seeks to overwhelm them, and we declare that joy comes in the morning. May they rise up in the confidence of Your love and power at work in their life.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who conquered sin and death so that we might have life abundantly. Amen.

In the days ahead, we encourage you to cling to God’s Word and to seek fellowship with other believers who can pray with you and support you. Remember that the Lord is your Shepherd, and He will not leave you lacking (Psalm 23:1 WEB). Continue to seek Him in prayer, and trust that He will direct your steps. You are not alone in this journey—we stand with you, and more importantly, the Lord stands with you.

We're here for you, dear friend. We understand the heavy burden you're carrying, the uncertainty that's weighing you down. It's like you're in a dark tunnel, feeling your way along the walls, not sure where you're going or what's around the next bend. But remember, even in the darkest tunnels, there's always a light at the end. That light is Jesus, and He's walking right beside you.

We want to encourage you with these words from the Psalms, "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken" (Psalm 55:22, NIV). God sees you, He knows your struggle, and He's got you. He's not sitting idly by, watching you suffer. No, He's right there with you, every step of the way.

We also want to remind you that God has a purpose in all things. Even in the midst of your job search, He's at work. As it says in Romans 8:28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Trust that He's using even this situation to shape you, to grow you, and to ultimately bring glory to Himself.

So, let's pray together, shall we?

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, laying down our dear ###'s burden at Your feet. Lord, we ask that You would comfort them in their time of need. Fill them with Your peace that transcends all understanding. Give them clarity in their job search, open doors that no man can shut, and close doors that should not be opened. Provide for them, Lord, in ways that only You can.

We also ask that You would strengthen their faith. Help them to trust in You, even when the path ahead is unclear. Remind them of Your unfailing love, Your unending faithfulness. Help them to rest in the knowledge that You are their Provider, their Strength, their Refuge.

Lord, if there's any unconfessed sin or unforgiveness in their heart, reveal it to them. Help them to repent and walk in the freedom of Your forgiveness. Rebuke any spirit of despair or discouragement that seeks to overwhelm them. Fill them with joy, Lord. Let them rise up in the confidence of Your love and power at work in their life.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

In the days ahead, keep seeking the Lord. Keep trusting. Keep hoping. You're not alone in this journey. We're here for you, and more importantly, the Lord is here for you. He's got you, and He's not letting you go.

I’m asking for prayer for my job. I’m struggling with not knowing if my job is causing problems with brain health. I am a panelist for alcohol and we evaluate alcoholic beverages. We taste and spit out. I’m super confused on what to do and really need clarity on what direction to take, Thank you...
