Just last week I asked for this prayer:
After Fifteen months and six mental health/addiction facilities my s on is back. He is living with a family friend. He has been back for 2 weeks. Things are going ok so far. Please pray for him and his desire to move forward as an adult: to let chains break, let the lies from the devil flee and a sense of purpose and urgency to grip his heart. He needs to get a job so he can start paying for his rent, car payment, food, gas, etc. Pray a desire and determination for him to send out resumes daily and get the job in God's will. Lastly pray for reconciliation of our relationship. He is constantly throwing the last 15 months in my face. Well if you hadnt done this, or you did this, or thats because of 15 months of unnecessary care, etc. He is holding onto bitterness and is not trusting me and why he stayed in care so long.
Well, less than a week and guess what?
My s on was kicked out of the family friend's house and NOT because of anything my s on did. The friend is having some major issues and took out his anger and frustration on my s on. SO I had to let him come back home. Well I did not want that because I did not want an opportunity for old habits to come back!
I am very angry at the friend and am very worried about my s on. Please pray....He needs a job, but he doesn't want to work. So, pray for divine intervention. He needs friends and a church home, but he only wants to stay home, read the Bible, go to the gym and talk to AI. Prayers he stops listening to AI, it's putting negative ideas in his head. He is a Christian, believing in Jesus Christ but has some strongholds that need to be broken in Jesus Name!

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious young man and his family in fervent prayer. Father God, we thank You for the gift of this child and for the love that his mother has for him, a love that mirrors Your own heart for Your children. We ask that You would break every chain of addiction, bitterness, and despair that seeks to ensnare him. Lord, we rebuke the lies of the enemy that whisper hopelessness and defeat into his spirit. In the name of Jesus, we command those chains to shatter and the lies to flee, replaced by Your truth and the light of Your love.

Heavenly Father, we pray for a divine urgency to grip his heart—a holy discontent with mediocrity and a burning desire to walk in the purpose You have for him. Stir within him a passion for work, not just as a means to provide for himself, but as a way to honor You and serve others. Open doors of opportunity that no man can shut, and grant him favor as he seeks employment. Let him rise each day with determination, sending out resumes and trusting in Your provision. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope" (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB).

Lord, we also lift up the reconciliation of this family. We ask that You would soften hearts and heal wounds. Help this young man to release the bitterness he holds toward his mother, recognizing that her actions, though imperfect, were born out of love. Teach him to extend grace, just as You have extended grace to him. "Bear with one another, and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do" (Colossians 3:13 WEB). Father, mend what is broken and restore trust where it has been lost.

We are deeply concerned, Lord, about the isolation he has chosen. While it is commendable that he reads Your Word and seeks You in prayer, we know that iron sharpens iron, and we are not meant to walk this journey alone. We pray against the negative influences that AI and solitude may bring, and we ask that You would surround him with godly friends and mentors who will speak life into him. Lead him to a church home where he can grow in faith, serve with his gifts, and be held accountable in love. "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching" (Hebrews 10:24-25 WEB).

Father, we also lift up the mother’s heart, which is heavy with worry and frustration. Grant her wisdom and patience as she navigates this season. Help her to set boundaries that protect her heart and his, while still extending the love and grace that only You can provide. Strengthen her to stand firm in faith, trusting that You are at work even when she cannot see it. "Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved" (Psalm 55:22 WEB).

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of laziness and entitlement that seeks to take root in his life. Your Word is clear: "For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: 'If anyone will not work, neither let him eat'" (2 Thessalonians 3:10 WEB). We pray that You would ignite a fire within him to take responsibility for his life, to work diligently, and to steward his resources wisely. Break every stronghold of addiction, idleness, and self-pity, and replace them with a spirit of discipline, purpose, and gratitude.

Finally, Father, we declare that this young man is not defined by his past or his struggles. He is a new creation in Christ, called to walk in victory and freedom. We speak life over him, declaring that he will rise above every obstacle, that he will fulfill the destiny You have for him, and that he will be a testimony of Your redeeming power. "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB).

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and through which we have access to Your throne. May Your will be done in this young man’s life, and may Your glory be revealed through his story. Amen.

We're right there with you, friend. We've been lifting up your son in prayer, believing that God is at work in his life. We've been asking God to break every chain that's holding him back - addiction, bitterness, and the lies that tell him he's not good enough or that he's beyond help. We're claiming God's truth over him, that he's a new creation in Christ, called to walk in freedom and victory.

We've also been praying for a divine urgency to grip his heart, a passion for work that goes beyond just providing for himself, but as a way to honor God and serve others. We're asking God to open doors of opportunity, to grant him favor as he seeks employment, and to give him the determination to send out resumes daily, trusting in God's provision.

We're interceding for reconciliation in your family too. We're asking God to soften hearts and heal wounds. We're praying that your son will release the bitterness he holds towards you, recognizing that your actions, though imperfect, were born out of love. We're asking God to teach him to extend grace, just as God has extended grace to him.

We're concerned about the isolation he's chosen, so we're praying against the negative influences that AI and solitude may bring. We're asking God to surround him with godly friends and mentors who will speak life into him. We're praying that he'll find a church home where he can grow in faith, serve with his gifts, and be held accountable in love.

We're also lifting up your heart, ###. We're asking God to grant you wisdom, patience, and the strength to stand firm in faith. We're praying that you'll be able to set boundaries that protect both of your hearts, while still extending love and grace.

We're believing that God is at work, even when it's hard to see. We're claiming His promises over your son's life, that he's not defined by his past or his struggles, but he's a new creation in Christ, called to walk in victory and freedom.

We're praying all these things in Jesus' name, believing that His name is above every name, and through Him, we have access to the Father's throne. We're trusting that God's will is being done in your son's life, and that God's glory will be revealed through his story. Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep believing. We're in this with you.
