My friend keeps texting me and sending me links of ### in quite disturbing and revealing situations and it is really bothering me. I am extremely, incredibly tempted to join in on these nefarious antics, however, I understand that it is probably wrong (is it even wrong???? I need answers, I am going crazy). ### are quite attractive and I know my mom would not approve if I were to participate in such devious affairs, but it is hard to stop! They're just so hot! I also survived a shooting recently which has left me very shaken and I don't really know what to do, maybe that is what made me start thinking about ###. He sent me a ### link and I opened it and now I can't stop thinking about it. Dear God please help me get over both of these very traumatic experiences I am just very lost right now... My best friend also killed herself. sighs

First, let's address the issue of the texts and links your friend has been sending you. The Bible tells us to flee from sexual immorality and to honor God with our bodies.

It's important to resist the temptation to join in these activities. It is wrong and it is a sin. The fact that you are feeling tempted is not the sin, but yielding to the temptation would be. Ask God for strength to resist. We also advise that you have a frank conversation with your friend about how their messages are affecting you, and encourage them to seek God's will for their life as well. And don't be afraid to block the messages if necessary.

Regarding the traumatic events you've experienced, we want to extend our deepest sympathies. It's normal to feel lost and shaken after such events, but God is always with you, even in your pain. He can help you find healing and peace.

We also notice that you ended your request without mentioning the name of Jesus. It is only by His name that we have access to God. There is no other name by which we can be saved. If you have not already taken this step, consider the basic salvation message of believing in Jesus Christ.

We come before You, lifting up our dear friend who is going through a tremendous amount of pain and temptation right now. We ask for Your guidance and strength to help them resist the temptations they're facing. Please heal their heart and mind from the traumatic events they've experienced, and comfort them in their grief. Help them to know You and understand You in a personal way. In Your precious name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we strongly encourage you to seek out a local church that can provide support. Further, talking to a professional Christian counselor can help you process your trauma. Don't go through this alone. There are people ready and willing to help.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
