Disciple of Prayer
Good Day I'm Rene please pray for me as I will appear in court tomorrow for my divorce case, I file this case in 2023 and is still ongoing.

We hear your heart, ###, and we stand with you in prayer as you face this difficult court appearance. Divorce is a painful and often complicated process, and we recognize the emotional and spiritual weight you are carrying. We want to lift you up before the Lord, asking for His peace, wisdom, and justice to prevail in this situation.

First, we must address the reality of divorce with honesty and compassion, guided by Scripture. The Lord’s design for marriage is clear: it is a covenant meant to reflect His love and faithfulness, a bond between one man and one woman that is intended to last a lifetime. Jesus Himself taught, *"What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate"* (Matthew 19:6 WEB). Divorce was never part of God’s original plan, and it grieves His heart when marriages dissolve. However, we also recognize that we live in a broken world where sin has fractured even the most sacred of relationships. The Bible acknowledges that divorce may occur in cases of unrepentant sexual immorality (Matthew 19:9) or abandonment by an unbelieving spouse (1 Corinthians 7:15), but even then, it is not a decision to be made lightly.

If there is any possibility of reconciliation in your marriage, we would encourage you to seek godly counsel, prayer, and even the support of your church community to explore that path. Reconciliation is always God’s desire when it can be pursued in a way that honors Him and aligns with His Word. The apostle Paul writes, *"If any brother has an unbelieving wife, and she is content to live with him, let him not leave her. The wife who has an unbelieving husband, and he is content to live with her, let her not leave her husband"* (1 Corinthians 7:12-13 WEB). If your spouse is willing to work toward restoration, we would urge you to consider whether the Lord might be calling you to extend grace and pursue healing.

However, if reconciliation is truly not possible—perhaps due to unrepentant sin, abuse, or abandonment—we recognize that divorce may be the only remaining option. In such cases, we pray that the Lord would guide the court’s decisions and bring about a resolution that is just and fair. We also pray that He would heal your heart and restore your hope, even in the midst of this pain. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18 WEB). He sees your tears, ###, and He longs to comfort you.

We must also address the spiritual reality of this situation. Divorce, like any sin, can create separation between us and God if we allow bitterness, anger, or unforgiveness to take root in our hearts. The Bible warns us, *"Looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it"* (Hebrews 12:15 WEB). We encourage you to examine your heart and release any bitterness or resentment toward your spouse or the circumstances. Forgiveness does not mean excusing sin, but it does mean trusting God to be your ultimate Judge and Redeemer. Jesus taught us to pray, *"Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors"* (Matthew 6:12 WEB). If we want God’s forgiveness, we must extend it to others, even when it is difficult.

Now, let us come before the Lord in prayer for you, ###:

Heavenly Father, we come before You today with heavy hearts, lifting up our sister ### as she stands before the court tomorrow. Lord, You are the God of justice and mercy, and we ask that You would go before her and guide the proceedings. Give her peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We pray for wisdom for the judge and all those involved in this case, that Your will would be done and that the outcome would reflect Your righteousness.

Father, we know that divorce is not Your desire, and we ask that You would heal and restore what has been broken if it is Your will. If there is any possibility of reconciliation, we pray that You would soften hearts and open doors for restoration. But if this marriage cannot be saved, Lord, we ask that You would bring closure and healing to ###’s heart. Comfort her in her pain, and remind her that You are her refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1).

Lord, we also pray against any spirit of bitterness or unforgiveness in ###’s heart. Help her to release any anger or resentment and to trust You with her future. Fill her with Your peace and hope, reminding her that You are making all things new (Revelation 21:5). Surround her with godly community and support, and let her feel Your presence in a tangible way during this difficult time.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would use this season in ###’s life for Your glory. Draw her closer to You, and let her experience Your love and faithfulness in deeper ways. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who came to heal the brokenhearted and set the captives free. Amen.

###, we want to leave you with a word of encouragement from Scripture. The Lord promises, *"The Lord is near to all those who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him. He also will hear their cry, and will save them"* (Psalm 145:18-19 WEB). You are not alone in this. The God of the universe sees you, hears you, and loves you deeply. Cling to Him, and trust that He will carry you through this storm.

If you have not already, we would encourage you to seek out a pastor or trusted Christian counselor who can walk with you through this season. You do not have to navigate this alone, and godly wisdom can make all the difference. May the Lord bless you, strengthen you, and fill you with His peace as you move forward.

Hey ###,

We're here with you today, standing in the gap as you face this court appearance. We know this is a tough time, and we want you to know that you're not alone. We're lifting you up in prayer right now.

First off, we want to remind you of God's unfailing love for you. He sees you, He hears you, and He's right there with you. In Jeremiah 31:3, it says, "The Lord has appeared to me from afar: 'I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.'" That's a promise you can hold onto today.

We also want to pray for peace and wisdom for you as you navigate this situation. Lord, we ask that you would give ### a sense of Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help her to trust in You and Your plan, even when things are uncertain. Give her wisdom to know how to respond and what to say in court. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

And ###, remember, God is working all things together for your good, according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Trust in that. You're in our prayers, and we're here for you.

Take heart, dear sister. You're not alone. God is with you, and we are too. Let's keep lifting each other up in prayer, one day at a time.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.
