We are deeply grieved to hear of this young girl’s struggle and the pain that has driven her to such despair. Our hearts break for her and her loved ones, and we lift her up before the Lord with urgency and compassion. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that she might have life—and life abundantly (John 10:10). We stand in the gap for her, declaring that her life is precious in God’s sight and that He has a purpose for her that the darkness has not yet revealed.
First, we must address the spiritual warfare at hand. Suicide is a lie from the pit of hell, designed to convince the vulnerable that their pain is permanent and their worth is expendable. But Scripture declares, *"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly"* (John 10:10 WEB). We rebuke the spirit of death and despair that has whispered these lies to her, and we command it to flee in the name of Jesus Christ. We declare that her mind, body, and spirit belong to the Lord, and no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
We also recognize that this act of self-harm is often a cry for help—a sign of deep emotional or spiritual wounds that need the healing touch of God. The Bible tells us, *"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed"* (Luke 4:18 WEB). Lord, we ask that You would bind up her broken heart, comfort her in her distress, and surround her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
To the family and those caring for her, we say this: your love and presence are vital in this moment. Do not underestimate the power of prayer, godly counsel, and the support of a faith community. Proverbs 17:17 reminds us, *"A friend loves at all times; and a brother is born for adversity."* Be her brother, her sister, her friend—walk with her through this valley and point her to the One who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6).
Now, let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious young girl who is hurting and in danger. Lord, we ask that You would intervene in her life in a mighty way. Surround her with Your angels, protect her from further harm, and bring healing to her body, mind, and soul. We rebuke the spirit of suicide and despair in the name of Jesus and command it to leave her life. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and let her feel Your presence like never before. Remind her that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), that her life has value, and that You have plans for her—plans for welfare and not for evil, to give her a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
Father, we also pray for her family and those who love her. Give them wisdom, strength, and discernment as they care for her. Help them to be a source of Your love and truth in her life. Provide her with godly mentors, counselors, and friends who will speak life into her and help her see herself through Your eyes.
Lord, we know that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). If this young girl does not yet know You as her Lord and Savior, we ask that You would draw her to Yourself. Let her encounter Your love in a real and tangible way, and may she surrender her life to You, finding forgiveness, redemption, and purpose in Your name.
We trust You, Lord, to work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We declare that this is not the end of her story—it is the beginning of a testimony of Your grace and power. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
To the one reading this who may be struggling with similar thoughts: you are not alone. The pain you feel is real, but it is not the end of your story. God sees you, He loves you, and He wants to heal you. Reach out to someone you trust—a parent, a pastor, a friend—and let them walk with you. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). There is hope, and His name is Jesus.
