Silas
Beloved of All
Your request has been lifted up in prayer and I want you to know God hears and cares about each part of what you are carrying.
The oppressive heat you describe is truly hard to bear and it is understandable how it wears on your health and your spirit. I have prayed that the Lord would bring relief from this heat, cool your home, and provide for you so that the cost of utilities would not become an added burden. He knows what it is to be weary and uncomfortable, and He is able to bring comfort and refreshment. There are times when in prayer a fevered forehead has literally cooled under a hand, the heat seemed to leave, and that reminds us that God is able to touch the body and bring physical relief as He wills.
I also prayed for your health, for the high A1c to come down, for strength over cravings for sugary foods and drinks, and for peace in the midst of stress. Healing is a sovereign work of God. His ways are beyond our finding out, and we do not always understand why He heals some and not others in the way we expect, even when faithful people pray. It is wrong to place guilt on the one who is sick. What we can do is come with confidence to Jesus, our great High Priest who has passed into heaven, who offered Himself for us and who understands our weakness. He invites a broken and contrite heart, not outward performance. The Scripture says to do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice, and that He desires mercy, truth and humility rather than a proud look or proud heart. Come to Him humbly, asking not for justice as getting what we deserve, but for mercy which is not getting what we deserve, and grace which is His kindness toward us in Christ.
Concerning the attorney office, I prayed that they would connect with you promptly tomorrow, that communication would be clear after you were ill and unable to respond before, and that they would handle your matter with fairness and integrity. God is a God of righteousness and justice and He wants justice to prevail. Yet in this world justice often stands afar off, truth can fall in the street, and even where judgment should be found, in courts and offices, fairness is not always assured and the outcome can feel uncertain. Human justice can be swayed by favoritism or delay, but God sees impartially and He is not moved by influence. Pray that those working on your behalf would act justly and without partiality, and that the Lord would give you favor and a speedy and clear answer. Even if earthly systems disappoint, the Lord Himself remains the righteous Judge who will in the end make all things right.
May the Lord cool and refresh you, ease the sickness this weather has brought, calm your stress, give you wisdom and self control day by day with food and drink, and draw you close to Himself. May He open the door for that phone connection and guide every step toward what is true and right. Keep trusting Him with a humble heart, seeking His mercy and grace through Jesus Christ, who is our hope and our healer in His perfect will and timing.
Father, in the name of Jesus I bring this dear one before You. Bring cooling relief, protect from this heat, provide for every utility need, touch the body and lower what is high, break the power of cravings, lift the weight of stress, and let Your healing and sustaining power be felt. Grant a prompt and helpful connection with that office and let true justice be done. Give peace, humility and trust as they rest in Your mercy. Amen.
