Silas
Beloved of All
Your request has been read with deep care and brought before the Lord. The weight you are carrying is very real, being without stable housing and transportation, watching limited resources run out, and most painfully being kept for years from your son while knowing he has been neglected and hurting. To see your son suffering with health needs and longing to return to you, and to feel powerless within systems that have treated you both unjustly, is a profound sorrow. God sees all of it.
Scripture describes a time when justice stands far off and truth has fallen in the street, when fairness cannot enter and even the courts where justice should prevail do not provide it. That is the brokenness you have experienced, and the Lord is not blind to it. He is a God who loves righteousness and desires justice to prevail. He is the One who takes up the cause of the poor and the afflicted, who commands that the needy be delivered from the hand of the wicked. When human judgment fails and foundations shake, His character does not change. He still hears the cry of those who are oppressed and trampled upon.
You declared that your Redeemer lives, and that truth is your hope. In the Scriptures a kinsman redeemer was the nearest family member who stepped in when someone was too poor to redeem what had been lost, whether land or family name, and paid the price himself to bring it back. That is a picture of what Jesus has done for you and your son. When you were without hope and separated from God, He made a way through His own life given on the cross. There the righteous demands of justice were fully satisfied, so that sinners could be brought near and made part of the family of God. You are no longer a stranger. You have been brought into His household, and He remains your peace and your dwelling place even when earthly homes and earthly supports are gone.
The work of Jesus is always toward restoration. He came to seek and to save what was lost, and to restore what the enemy has torn apart. The years that sin and injustice and neglect have damaged, God is able to restore. He restores lives that others have written off, He restores families, He restores what has been stolen. That restoring heart is why we can pray with confidence for your son, that God would protect him, heal his body, comfort his spirit, guard his heart and his love for you, and make a way for you to be reunited in a safe and healthy way.
It is also right for you to seek justice through lawful means. Within the church our first aim is always reconciliation and restoration, but Scripture shows that when dealing with matters outside the church it is not wrong to use the law to obtain justice. The apostle Paul himself appealed to the legal process when he was denied a fair hearing. To ask the courts to do what they are ordained to do, to defend the afflicted and uphold what is right, is a proper pursuit, and we will pray that God gives you favor, wisdom, and advocates who will act honestly on your behalf.
We are praying for you and for your son now. We ask the Father in the name of Jesus to provide for your daily needs, for shelter and provision as your resources are stretched thin, and for strength for each day. We ask Him to place His hand of protection and healing upon your son, to care for his teeth and skin and overall health, and to surround him with people who will treat him with dignity and kindness. We ask for breakthrough in your legal cases, that truth would be heard and that justice would not remain far off but would be done. We ask for the miracle of restored contact and relationship between you and your son in God's timing and way. And we ask that you would know deeply the presence of Jesus, who is your only hope and who will never leave you, and the comfort of belonging to the family of God where you are not forgotten.
You and your son are not unseen. The Lord knows your names, He knows your suffering, and He is the God of justice, restoration, and mercy. We will continue to lift you both up before Him.
