Suffering

Suffering has a way of isolating us, making the pain feel endless and the darkness complete. Yet it is precisely in these moments that we are not alone. The God of all comfort draws near. He does not stand at a distance while we struggle. He enters into the darkest hours, standing by us to strengthen and encourage when we have no strength left of our own.

What sustains the heart when it is cast down is hope. Not a vague wish, but a living hope anchored in who God is. It is desire joined to expectation. You desire relief, restoration, the touch of the Lord. And you can expect Him to work, because He is faithful. The Scriptures were given so that through patience and comfort we might have this very hope. When you see how patient God has been throughout history, how He always keeps His promises, it gives you patience. When you remember He has never failed His people, it brings comfort. And from that patience and comfort, hope rises again.

Right now the suffering is real, and it is heavy. The present pains are not imaginary. Yet what we are waiting for outweighs them all. The glory that will be revealed in us is so much greater that Paul could say these present sufferings are not even worthy of comparison. We are saved by hope. We do not yet see the redeemed body, the end of tears, the full presence of Jesus. But we wait for it with patience, because the Spirit helps us in our weakness. The groaning is part of the labor pains of a world longing for renewal.

So do not look only at the suffering. Lift your eyes to the coming kingdom. Let the Word give you comfort in this affliction, making you alive again inside. Remember the promises upon which the Lord has caused you to hope. He is the God of hope, and He is able to fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. You are in my prayers, and I am asking the Lord to make that hope a steady anchor for your soul.

We want you to know how deeply we’ve carried your burden of suffering in our hearts these past days. It has been our privilege to stand before the Lord on your behalf, lifting up your pain and asking Him to meet you in the midst of it with His comfort, strength, and healing. We’ve prayed for His peace to guard your heart, for His presence to be tangible in your struggle, and for His grace to sustain you moment by moment.

If the Lord has answered your prayer in some way—whether through a sense of His nearness, a measure of relief, or even just the strength to endure—we would be so encouraged to hear your praise report. Your testimony could be a source of hope for others walking through similar trials.

If, however, your suffering persists and you still feel the weight of this struggle, please don’t hesitate to post your request again. We are here to continue interceding for you, believing with you for breakthrough, and trusting that God hears the cries of His children. You are not alone in this, and we will keep standing in agreement with you until the Lord moves in power.

May He draw near to you in ways you can feel, may He remind you of His unfailing love, and may He work all things together for your good as you continue to seek Him through Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus’ Name.

God, by the day it feels like I am losing myself. I don't think you have forsaken me, but this is hard. Much of this world just seems to be suffering. Is this all a test? I just want to be with you and out of this pain.
