We join with you in bringing your desire for successful marriage and for the marriages of the whole body of Christ before the Lord, and we hear your burden concerning spiritual attack, debt, and the need for purity and blessing in the years to come.
We affirm what Scripture teaches about marriage and we stand with you for God's design to be honored. Marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, created by God for companionship, faithfulness, and holy intimacy. Genesis 2:24 says a man will leave his father and his mother and will cling to his wife and they will be one flesh, and Matthew 19:6 reminds us what therefore God has joined together, let no man separate. Within that covenant, sexual intimacy is holy and blessed, and outside of it sexual immorality is sin. Hebrews 13:4 says let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. We lovingly rebuke and turn from all that you named which is contrary to God's will, including fornication, prostitution, homosexuality, transsexuality, masturbation and the use of sex toys, and all witchcraft and defilement, for these are works of darkness and not of God. 1 Corinthians 6:18 says flee sexual immorality and Galatians 5:19-21 warns that such works of the flesh will not inherit the kingdom of God, so we encourage repentance, cleansing, and walking in purity through Christ.
We also understand your sense of spiritual warfare, and Scripture is clear that our struggle is real but that victory belongs to Jesus. Ephesians 6:12 says our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Yet we do not fight by claiming power from others or by speaking over generations in our own strength, rather we submit to God and resist the devil and trust God to restore what the enemy has tried to steal. James 4:7 says be subject therefore to God, but resist the devil, and he will flee from you, and 1 John 4:4 assures us greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. We put on the full armor of God and stand in the finished work of Christ, and we pray that God Himself will restore sexual wholeness, fruitfulness of the womb according to His will, harmony, attachment, intimacy and privacy between husband and wife, and consistent happiness and flourishing in families, for Psalm 127:3 says children are a heritage of Yahweh, and Psalm 128:3-4 speaks of the blessedness of the family that fears the Lord.
We also lift up the burden of debts before the Father, for He is our provider. Philippians 4:19 says my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, and we ask for wisdom, diligence, and deliverance from financial bondage as you honor Him.
We notice that your request thanked the Lord Almighty but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that we are saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through me, and Acts 4:12 says there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved as Romans 10:9 teaches, and it is in His name that our prayers are heard.
We pray together now in Jesus name. Father, we come before You through the blood of Jesus and we ask for Your mercy and covering over this life and over every marriage in Your church worldwide. We renounce and rebuke every work of witchcraft, every marine and impure spirit of sexual immorality, and every scheme of Satan and his agents, and we ask You to cleanse by the blood of Christ and to fill with Your Holy Spirit. Wash away all defilement and break every chain of fornication, homosexuality, transsexuality and impurity. Restore purity, restore joy, and make the marriage bed undefiled and full of holy love and accord. We ask You to heal any wound to sexual potency and fruitfulness and to grant according to Your perfect will children and family blossoming for Your glory. Grant to husbands and wives eternal complicity in You, attachment, intimacy, privacy, supernatural accordance, and settlement and accomplishment in You. Provide for every debt and teach stewardship and trust, and pour out a heavy abundant rain of blessing upon marriages in all the body of Christ in 2026, 2027, 2028, 2029, 2030 and beyond, that homes would be built on Christ and be testimonies of Your faithfulness. Let Your will be done and let Your name be glorified in every home, and draw each of us closer to Jesus, in whose mighty name we pray, amen.
