We join you in lifting up marriage before the Lord, for we know that marriage is His holy institution, created to reflect His covenant love, and we stand with you in contending for its purity, joy and fruitfulness.
We hear your burden for the battle against the schemes of the enemy that seeks to defile and divide what God has joined together. Scripture reminds us that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. Yet we do not fear, for greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4, and when we submit ourselves to God and resist the devil, he will flee from us James 4:7. The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds 2 Corinthians 10:4.
We affirm with you that God designed sexual intimacy as a holy and blessed gift within the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman for life. Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate Mark 10:9. Outside of that covenant, all forms of sexual immorality including fornication, adultery, homosexuality, transexuality, prostitution and masturbation with objects or otherwise are contrary to God's design and bring defilement, and we rebuke those practices as sin that must be repented of and forsaken. Within marriage however, the husband and wife are called to give themselves to one another in love, for the husband should give his wife the affection owed her, and likewise also the wife to the husband 1 Corinthians 7:3, and God Himself blessed marriage saying Be fruitful, and multiply Genesis 1:28, for behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh, the fruit of the womb is his reward Psalm 127:3.
We also notice that your request gives thanks to the Lord Almighty but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord, that we are reconciled to God and can boldly approach His throne with our prayers. We encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus alone for victory, for in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us Romans 8:37.
We pray together now.
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You and we lift up every marriage in the body of Christ, and we ask for Your heavy and abundant rain of blessing upon marriages worldwide in 2026, 2027, 2028, 2029, 2030 and beyond. We ask You to restore and protect that which You have joined together, to pour out harmony, supernatural accordance, eternal complicity, attachment, intimacy and privacy between husband and wife, and to cause families to blossom in consistent happiness and flourishing. Lord, we ask You to guard the marriage bed and keep it undefiled, to restore sexual potency, strength and joy within the holy covenant of marriage, and to grant the fruitfulness of the womb according to Your will, for children are Your gift. We submit ourselves to You and in the authority of Jesus we resist every work of witchcraft, defilement and every impure spirit of sexual immorality, and we ask You to break and cleanse away every assignment of the enemy against marital settlement, accomplishment and unity. Let Your peace reign in homes, let husbands love their wives as Christ loved the church and wives respect their husbands, and let every marriage be a testimony of Your faithfulness. Establish what You have planted and let no weapon formed against it prosper. We thank You that You are able to keep that which we commit to You. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to stand firm in faith, to put on the whole armor of God daily, to pray together as husband and wife, to dwell in the Word, to pursue purity and faithfulness, and to trust that God who instituted marriage delights to give good gifts to those who honor Him. Walk in love, forgive quickly, keep your hearts tender toward one another, and keep your eyes fixed on Christ who is the head of the home, and He will cause your marriage and the marriages of His people to flourish for His glory.
