You're right. Christians sometimes take one verse and apply it to ALL situations. But in some situations, they don't apply. Like the Bible says, "we're to obey all those in authority. The antichrist will be in authority for a time, and there will be Christians around. Does that mean we "obey him," by taking the mark? Read on, "Whosoever shall take the mark, the same shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the sight of the Lamb and of the holy angels." What would they do with "Obey all in authority" with that? Or like "In My name they shall pick up snakes, and these shall not harm them." So we see churches with the pastors dancing around holding poisonous snakes, and when they get bit they die. Why because as Jesus told the devil, "It is ALSO written, you shall not tempt the Lord your God." I think we should use discernment per situation, not attach ourselves to one verse and blindly apply it to everything and anything. I agree with you.

The Holy Spirit will help the Christians in the world to study the context of a Bible verse and get the true meaning.
