Study

We hear your desire for a summer of deep Bible study, blessing, and deliverance, and we join you in seeking the Lord’s face with all our hearts. The Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, able to divide soul and spirit, and discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). It is through the Scriptures that we find wisdom, strength, and the power to walk in freedom. Let us come before the Lord together, lifting this request in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can approach the Father or receive true deliverance (Acts 4:12).

Father God, we thank You for the gift of Your Word, which is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). We ask that You would open our eyes to see the wonders of Your law and grant us understanding as we study this summer (Psalm 119:18). Pour out Your Holy Spirit upon us, that we may be taught by You and led into all truth (John 16:13). Lord, we hunger for Your presence and Your Word, and we ask that You would satisfy us with the bread of life (John 6:35). Let this season be one of spiritual growth, where we draw nearer to You and Your truth takes deeper root in our hearts.

We also come before You seeking blessing and deliverance, Lord. You are the God who delivers us from every snare of the enemy and breaks the chains of bondage (Psalm 107:14). We rebuke every spirit of distraction, laziness, or discouragement that would seek to hinder our time in Your Word. We declare that our minds are renewed by Your truth, and our hearts are set free from every lie of the enemy (Romans 12:2). Father, we ask that You would bless us indeed, enlarging our territory in You, and that Your hand would be with us to keep us from evil (1 Chronicles 4:10). Let Your favor rest upon us as we seek Your face, and let Your deliverance be evident in every area of our lives.

We must also address the importance of approaching You in the name of Jesus Christ, for He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). Salvation is found in no one else, and it is only by grace through faith in Jesus that we are saved (Ephesians 2:8-9). If there is anyone reading this who has not surrendered their life to Christ, we urge you to turn to Him today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Jesus is the only mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5), and it is through His blood that we have redemption and the forgiveness of sins (Ephesians 1:7).

Lord, we pray that this summer would be a season of transformation as we immerse ourselves in Your Word. Let Your truth set us free from every stronghold, and let Your blessings overflow in our lives. We declare that we are more than conquerors through Christ who loves us (Romans 8:37), and we walk in the victory that He has already won for us. Strengthen us, Lord, to stand firm in Your truth and to live lives that honor You. May our study of Your Word bear fruit in every area of our lives, and may we be vessels of Your love and light to those around us.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We love that you’re leaning into a focused summer Bible study. Wanting God’s blessing and deliverance alongside it shows a heart that’s genuinely open to what He might do in you.

It’s easy to hope that a dedicated study season will bring a sudden, dramatic breakthrough, and God can certainly move that way. But more often, spiritual growth unfolds quietly, through the steady discipline of opening the Word day after day. The Spirit uses those consistent moments to reshape us, little by little, even when it doesn’t feel dramatic. So if deliverance or a sense of blessing doesn’t come like a lightning bolt, that doesn’t mean nothing is happening. The process itself is a sign of life.

A practical anchor that can help: pick a regular time and a comfortable place, and consider inviting one or two friends to walk through it with you, even if you just share a quick text about what you’re reading. Having a simple plan and a bit of companionship can keep you grounded when the summer gets full or your mind drifts. Then, as you open the Scripture, ask the Holy Spirit to show you what you most need, not just what you expect.

We’ll join you in prayer right now.

Jesus, thank You for this desire to spend the summer in Your Word. Settle this heart, quiet the noise, and deliver from whatever would pull them away from You. Let it be a season of real, steady growth, not built on emotional highs, but on the deep work You do in the hidden places. We trust You to bless this time far beyond what they can see. In Your name, amen.

My dear friend,

What a gracious request you bring, pleading for a summer of study, for blessing, and for deliverance. The Lord delights to hear such cries, for they are the breath of the new nature within you.

As you turn to the sacred page, remember that you are coming to a well of water in the wilderness. This book, this golden book, the word of God, with its thousands of promises, is the place where the Lord meets with His people. How frequently when we have been fainting and ready to die, we have found that promise true, "I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground." Go to the Scriptures not as to a dry textbook but as to a fountain of living waters. Drink deeply, and you shall be refreshed. Let your study be sweet communion with Christ, who is the great deep that lieth under, the secret spring from which all crystal streams flow. In Him are all your fresh springs.

You seek a blessing, and rightly so, for the Lord has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus. Yet remember this: the chief end of blessing is that we might bless Him in return. We can bless God by praising Him, extolling His name, and desiring all honor for Him. When you have drawn water from the well, then pour it out again in adoration. Moreover, the promise is that He will bless you and make you a blessing. As you keep close to your Lord, walking in separation from the world, you shall find the truth of that word: "I will bless you, and you shall be a blessing." Your study will not be for yourself alone; the truth you gather will overflow to others. And what is sweeter than to be a blessed instrument in the Redeemer's hands? I would, with all my soul, pronounce over you the benediction of the Gospel: "The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you."

You have asked also for deliverance. Perhaps you have felt the fiery dart of the enemy, the dark insinuation that God has forsaken you. Many of the Lord's chosen have been wounded by that arrow. But hear the promise: "He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes." The Lord not only delivers but enriches. He will bring you out of the Egypt of your fears and your bondage, and He will strengthen your feeble knees. Even if you feel yourself going down into the pit of despair, yet there is a ransom found. God can deal with sinners on the brink of hell and rescue them to the praise of the glory of His grace. And what is the foundation of all deliverance? It is that blessed word: "Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you." Cry for this cleansing, and you shall have it. The Lord begins to deal with us while we are yet in our sin; He does not wait till we are clean but comes to us in grace.

Go forward, then, into these summer days with your open Bible and your expecting heart. The Lord grant you that inward peace which comes from meditating on His testimonies. May your study be bathed in prayer, and may you prove that they who seek the Lord shall never be forsaken. The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and give you peace. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You set your heart on studying the Scriptures over these summer months, and you ask for blessing and deliverance. That is a noble desire, but you must understand what you truly seek. For there is a blessing that is carnal, and there is a blessing that is spiritual. The former promises fruit of the body, going out and coming in; but the latter is from Christ Jesus, and with it you are made immortal, a son, a fellow-heir, reigning with Christ. It is no small thing to open the holy pages, but if you aim only at earthly ease or some temporary gift, you have already missed the mark. The study itself is not the end, but a means to convey you to that better country. Consider Jacob: he obtained the promise, yet in this life he wore out his days in servitude, plots, and fears, while his brother lived in security. Where then did the blessing find its accomplishment, save in the world to come? So with you: do not expect that this summer’s labor will yield visible prosperity or unbroken peace. The true blessing awaits, incorruptible.

And you ask deliverance. But from what do you wish to be delivered? If it is from every trial and enemy, listen: there were those who were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection. They understood that to be freed from present hardship is often to forfeit eternal glory. I would not have you seek deliverance in the way the world gives it. Rather, bear meekly whatever spiteful acts or hardships come, for in doing so you gain the greatest deliverance of all, deliverance from your own sins, from anger, from despondency. You become free from a master worse than any tyrant, for he who cannot hate is freed from vain labors and ten thousand sorrows. The belly and mammon are called gods, not by their own dignity, but by the wretchedness of those enslaved. The servant of God knows a better freedom. Let your study of Scripture be an apprenticeship in patience and love, not a quest after comfort. Then, when you are filled with the fruit of good deeds, the blessing of the Gospel, you will be worthy of those praises that come from God alone, and you will taste already the firstfruits of the resurrection life.
