Struggling

We hear the deep frustration and longing in your heart, and we want you to know that God sees your struggles and cares for every detail of your life. The desire for discipline, stability, and a place of your own is understandable, but we must first align our hearts with God’s will and seek His kingdom above all else. Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:33, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* This is not just a suggestion—it is a command and a promise. When our focus is on Him, He provides what we need in His perfect timing.

Your mention of struggling with discipline reminds us of 1 Corinthians 9:24-27, where Paul compares the Christian life to an athlete’s training: *"Don’t you know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run like that, that you may win. Every man who strives in the games exercises self-control in all things... I therefore run like that, as not uncertainly. I fight like that, as not beating the air, but I beat my body and bring it into submission, lest by any means, after I have preached to others, I myself might be rejected."* Discipline is not just about personal achievement—it is a spiritual battle, and we must rely on the Holy Spirit to strengthen us. Have you surrendered this area to God in prayer? Are you asking Him daily for the strength to overcome laziness, distraction, or discouragement?

You also mention the struggle to find a job and financial provision. We must be careful not to let our desires for comfort or independence overshadow our trust in God’s plan. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* Have you sought God’s wisdom in how to steward the resources and opportunities He *has* already given you? Sometimes, God withholds what we *want* to teach us to depend on Him or to redirect our steps. Have you considered that your current living situation might be part of His training ground for humility, patience, or community?

Your mention of living overseas is intriguing. If this is truly a calling from God, then He will open the doors—no amount of personal effort can force His timing. But we must ask: Is this desire rooted in a genuine call from the Lord, or is it an escape from current difficulties? Missionary work is not about personal fulfillment but about surrendering to God’s will, even if it means staying where you are for now. In Acts 16:6-7, Paul and his companions were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to enter certain regions, even though their intentions were good. They had to trust God’s redirection. Are you seeking His will above your own plans?

Lastly, we must address something missing in your request: the name of Jesus. There is no other name by which we can approach the throne of God. John 14:6 says, *"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’"* And Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If you have not surrendered your life to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, then no amount of discipline, job hunting, or planning will bring true peace or eternal purpose. Repentance and faith in Him are the foundation for *all* other blessings. Have you given your life fully to Christ? Are you praying *in His name*, or are you treating God like a cosmic genie to grant your wishes?

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this beloved soul to You, knowing that You see their struggles, their longings, and their frustrations. Lord, forgive them for any areas where they have leaned on their own understanding or sought their own way apart from You. We rebuke the spirits of discouragement, laziness, and impatience that have taken root, and we command them to flee in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Fill this person with Your Holy Spirit, granting them the discipline to steward their time, talents, and resources wisely. Open their eyes to see if there is sin they need to repent of—pride, selfish ambition, or a lack of trust in You.

Father, if it is Your will for them to have their own place, provide the means in Your perfect timing. But strip away any idolatry of comfort or independence that may be hindering their walk with You. If they are called overseas, make the path clear and provide the resources supernaturally. But if You are calling them to remain where they are for now, give them a heart of surrender and contentment. Teach them to bloom where they are planted, serving You faithfully in their current season.

Most importantly, Lord, we pray that if this person does not know You as Savior, You would draw them to Yourself today. Soften their heart to receive Your forgiveness and lordship. If they *do* know You, reignite their passion for Your kingdom over their own desires. Remind them that You are their Provider, their Strength, and their Ultimate Reward.

We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Give them wisdom to seek godly counsel, to work diligently with the strength You provide, and to wait on You with patience. May they find their satisfaction in You alone, not in circumstances.

In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

Now, we urge you: Examine your heart before the Lord. Are you seeking His kingdom first, or are your prayers centered on your own comfort? Seek Him in fasting and prayer. Memorize Scripture to combat discouragement (we recommend Philippians 4:19, Psalm 37:4, and Joshua 1:9). And if you have not surrendered to Christ, do so today—eternity is at stake. We are here to walk with you in this journey, but the first step must be yours. God bless you.

We hear your struggle, dear friend, and we want you to know that God sees your heart's deepest longings. It's okay to desire discipline, stability, and a place of your own. God wants to give you these things, but let's remember that our ultimate focus should be on seeking His Kingdom first, as Jesus taught us in Matthew 6:33. Trust that when your heart is aligned with His, He will provide what you need in His perfect timing.

We understand the frustration of feeling stuck, unable to find a job or financial provision. It's easy to let our desires for comfort or independence overshadow our trust in God's plan. Let's ask ourselves, have we sought God's wisdom in how to steward the resources and opportunities He's already given us? Sometimes, God withholds what we want to teach us to depend on Him or redirect our steps. Could your current living situation be part of His training ground for humility, patience, or community?

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
