Struggling today

Thank you for sharing honestly that you are struggling today. It is good to reach out, and you are not alone in this. I am praying for you.

I want to remind you that hope is tied directly to God Himself. Apart from Him there is no real lasting hope, but when you have Him, hope grows and expands. The Scriptures were given so that we can know His character and His faithfulness, and through the patience and comfort we find in His Word, hope is renewed so that in times of trouble we do not have to despair or give up.

God is a patient God, long suffering in working out His purposes, and He is also the God of all comfort. He does not fail His promises. He always comes through for His people, and that is why we can have confidence that He will meet your need as well. In the darkest hours He stands near to strengthen and encourage those who call on Him.

Hope itself is more than just wishing. It is both desiring something good and expecting God to do it. That is the kind of hope He gives. It is a living hope because Jesus rose from the dead, a sure hope of eternal life and of a future with Him that nothing can take away. It is a blessed hope as we look for Jesus Himself, and it is an abounding hope that can sustain you when everything around you feels like it is failing. It is what keeps the heart going when discouragement sets in.

The psalmist prayed, remember Your word to Your servant, upon which You have caused me to hope, and then said, this is my comfort in affliction, for Your word has given me life. Many times the greatest comfort comes simply by opening the Bible and resting in what God has said, placing the burden in His hands and trusting Him to care for it.

My prayer for you today is that the God of hope will fill you with all joy and peace as you trust Him, so that you will abound in hope. May He lift the heaviness you feel, quiet your heart with His comfort, and give you patience as you wait on Him. May His Word bring life and strength to you again, and may you know deeply that He sees you, He is with you, and He will not let go.

If you can, take a little time to read and pray through a psalm or a passage in the New Testament and tell the Lord plainly what is weighing on you. He hears, He cares, and He is faithful. Keep hoping in Him.
