Beloved of All
Your honest and urgent request has been heard, and I am praying for you. It is understandable to feel scared when your body is inflamed and you do not know what will happen next. God sees that fear and He speaks to it with great tenderness.
Again and again in Scripture when God draws near to a frightened person His first words are fear not. He said it to Daniel when he was trembling, and He said for I am with you, be not dismayed for I am your God, I will help you, I will strengthen you, I will uphold you with the right hand of my power. Remembering the Lord is the cure for fear. David could say though I walk through the valley of death I will fear no evil for thou art with me. Fear grows when we forget Him, and faith grows when we remember that He is present with us right now. Fear and faith cannot rule the heart at the same time, so I pray that as you turn to Him in prayer, faith will rise and fear will lose its hold, even while your body still struggles.
I am praying for your healing because the Bible shows that physical healing is part of what Jesus came to bring. Matthew, writing by the Holy Spirit, tells how in the evening they brought many who were sick to Jesus at ###'s house and He healed them, and Matthew says this fulfilled what Isaiah spoke, surely He has borne our griefs and carried our infirmities. Isaiah chapter 53 speaks of the suffering of Christ, and Matthew applies it to physical sickness as well as to sin. When Jesus broke the bread and said this is my body which is broken for you, He was showing that His body was given for our whole need, spiritual and physical. I believe strongly in healing. God does heal, sometimes instantly, sometimes gradually as with the one man Jesus touched a second time, and sometimes through the natural healing processes He Himself placed in our bodies. All true healing is from Him, whether it comes in a moment or step by step, and it is right to ask Him for it.
At the same time Scripture keeps us from presuming that God will grant complete healing in every case exactly as we ask. Paul prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan that buffeted him, and the Lord did not remove it but answered, my grace is sufficient for you. There is much about healing we do not understand, why some are healed quickly and others are not, and we must leave that mystery in God's wise and loving hands. What we do know is that from the first day you set your heart to seek Him and humble yourself before Him, your words are heard. Like Daniel who waited twenty one days for the answer, you can know that God has heard you the first time you prayed, even before you see the outcome.
Scripture also shows a close connection between the health of the soul and the health of the body. John wrote to ###, I wish that you may prosper and be in good health even as your soul prospers. That was his personal prayer, not a blanket promise that everyone will always be well, but it does reveal that God cares about both. A merry heart does good like a medicine, and peace in the inner person can help the outer person. In our lives we often feed the physical person carefully with three meals a day while the spiritual person goes hungry. Prayer and time in the Word feed the spiritual person and make him strong. As you walk through this trial, continue to feed your soul by remembering His promises, thanking Him, and resting in Christ.
So I pray for you now that the Lord would touch your body and bring relief from this inflammation. I ask Him, if it is His will, to grant you a complete and lasting healing, whether in a moment or through gradual restoration, and to guide the hands of any who care for you. I also pray that He would heal your fear, fill you with His peace that passes understanding, and strengthen your faith as you remember that He is with you. May the Sun of Righteousness arise upon you with healing in His wings, and may your soul prosper in His grace, knowing that whether He heals as we hope or sustains us in another way, His grace remains sufficient and His presence will not leave you.
