It is good that you shared this request and your heart to stay well for your work and for your family who will be visiting soon. We are praying for you.
We ask the Lord to be your strength and your protection in a place where sickness is often around you. Scripture describes Him as a rock, a shield, and a high tower, a very present help in trouble. Because He is your refuge and strength you can bring your concerns to Him without fear, trusting that He watches over you and keeps you. We pray that He will give strength to you as one of His people and bless you with His peace, and that you will know His hand upholding you day by day.
You mentioned wanting to be in good health, and that brings to mind the greeting in the letter of John to Gaius, where he expressed his wish that he would prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospers. That was a personal and loving wish, not a guarantee that faith always results in perfect health, but it does point to a real connection. When the soul is prospering and walking in truth, it brings joy and a steadiness to the whole person. We are learning more and more how attitudes, peace, and trust affect the body itself. To walk in truth, to feed on God's Word, to rest in His love, brings a health to the inner life that often helps the outer life as well.
God marvelously designed your body, including the immune system He created to recognize what does not belong and to defend against it. He understands its workings and its limits far better than we do. In His Word He also gave principles for living that support health, including care for the body, cleanliness, rest, and moderation. We pray for wisdom for you to steward your body well in practical ways as you work, and for the Lord to strengthen what He has made.
At the same time we remember that health and spirituality cannot be simply equated. Some of the most faithful followers of Jesus walk through seasons of illness, and that does not mean a lack of faith or devotion. God's ways are higher than ours, and we do not always understand why He allows what He does. What we do know is that blessed is the person whose strength is in the Lord, who has learned his own weakness and trusts in Him. His strength is made perfect in our weakness, and those who trust Him can go from strength to strength, even making a dry and difficult valley into a place of refreshment because He is with them.
So we pray for you specifically, that the Lord who is the health of your countenance would keep you well, sustain your immune system, and guard you as you serve in your workplace. We ask Him to keep you strong and healthy for the visit with your family, that you may enjoy that time together with joy and energy. And whether in strength or in weakness, may you know that your hands are being held by the mighty God who is your salvation, and may His Word be your daily strength and portion.
