Beloved of All
Your concern for this loved one who has been bitten and scratched is heard, and it is right to bring even these small bodily matters before the Lord who cares for us in all things.
We join you in praying that God would give her a clear and steady conviction to care for her body wisely, to wash her hands and to apply antiseptic cream each time it is needed, and to seek medical help if there is any sign of infection or worsening. The Lord has given us medicines and remedies for healing, and to use them faithfully is not a lack of faith but a proper use of what He has provided for our good. As wounds of the body need dressing and care day by day, so we are called to be diligent and not neglectful with what has been entrusted to us.
We also pray that God would grant her grace to show gentleness and restraint, to respect the creature He has made and to leave the cat alone when it wants to be left alone. To learn when to withhold the hand is part of love and self control, and it will spare both her and the animal further harm.
Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we ask for Your mercy and protection over this dear one. Grant her wisdom to care for her hands, healing for every bite and scratch, and keep her from infection and pain. Give her a tender and disciplined spirit, that she may act with patience and kindness toward this animal and know when to step back. Teach us all to use with thankfulness the means of healing You have given, and to walk in wisdom in small daily things as well as great ones. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our Savior and healer, amen.
