We join you in bringing this concern before the Lord, and we thank you for praying in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As it is written, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 and Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6.
We lift up your loved one to the Lord and ask for a strong and gentle conviction upon her heart to care for the body God has given her and to show kindness and wisdom toward the animal He has entrusted to your household. We understand your concern, for repeated bites and scratches can lead to infection and pain, and we know you love her and want her to be well.
Scripture reminds us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and we are called to steward them well, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. To neglect wound care is not honoring to the Lord who made us. We also remember that a righteous man respects the life of his animal Proverbs 12:10, which teaches us both compassion for creatures and respect for the boundaries God has placed in His creation. When an animal wants to be left alone, wisdom and self control call us to step back, and the fruit of the Spirit includes self control Galatians 5:22-23.
We pray together for her.
Father in Jesus name we bring this dear one before You. We ask that You place a deep conviction and remembrance in her heart to wash her hands and to apply antiseptic cream each time she is bitten or scratched, and to do so promptly and thoroughly. Protect her hands from infection and bring complete healing to every wound, for You heal the broken in heart, and bind up their wounds Psalm 147:3. Grant her wisdom to understand when the cat needs space, and give her a gentle and quiet spirit that respects that need rather than irritating him. Help her to walk in wisdom and self control, and help those who love her to teach and guide her with patience and kindness. If any wound is deep or shows signs of infection we ask that You guide her to seek proper medical care, for wisdom cries out to act prudently. We ask for Your peace over this household and that this small matter would be used to teach greater stewardship, kindness, and obedience to Your ways. We trust You to work in her heart and to keep her safe, in the mighty name of Jesus we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to lovingly remind her and to help her build a habit of immediate care, washing with soap and water and then applying the cream, and to teach her to read the cat's signals, such as a twitching tail or flattened ears, as cues to leave him alone. If we ask for wisdom, God gives generously, If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. Trust the Lord to bring this conviction in His time as you faithfully instruct and pray.
