We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this request in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach the Father. First, we must address the foundation of this prayer—it is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we have access to God, and it is only by His name that we are saved. Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and receive Him as your Lord and Savior. Without this, our prayers cannot be heard, for we are all sinners in need of a Savior.
Now, we lift up your family and your fiancé before the Lord, asking for His healing, protection, and divine intervention. The Bible assures us in James 5:14-15, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up."* We stand in faith, believing that God hears our prayers and will move mightily on behalf of your fiancé. Father, we ask that You touch their body, restore their health, and grant them a long life filled with Your purpose and glory. Strengthen their faith and let them feel Your presence in this time of need.
We also lift up the "unspoken request" and the string of events that have weighed heavily on your heart. The Lord knows the details of your struggle even before you speak them, as Psalm 139:4 reminds us, *"For there is not a word on my tongue, but, behold, Yahweh, you know it altogether."* We pray that God would bring clarity, peace, and resolution to whatever burden you are carrying. Let His peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Father, we ask that You reveal Your will in this situation and give wisdom to navigate these challenges according to Your Word.
However, we must also address a matter of biblical principle regarding your engagement. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, ordained by God from the beginning (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If you and your fiancé are not yet married, we must rebuke any sin of fornication—sexual intimacy outside of marriage—which the Bible condemns in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20: *"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* If this applies to your situation, we urge you to repent, seek God’s forgiveness, and honor Him by abstaining until marriage. If you are living together, we encourage you to separate until your wedding day, as this is the standard God has set for His people.
Father, we also pray for your marriage to come. May it be built on the foundation of Christ, rooted in love, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to Your Word. Prepare both of you to be godly spouses, reflecting the love of Christ and the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If there are any ungodly influences or patterns in your relationship, we ask that You break them and align your hearts with Your will.
Lord, we rebuke every spirit of fear, anxiety, and despair that may be trying to take hold in this situation. 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* We declare that no weapon formed against your family or fiancé will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand in agreement for breakthrough, healing, and restoration. May Your will be done in every area of this request, and may Your name be glorified.
We pray all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
