Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your request has been heard and I am praying with you about the worry that weighs on you before Tuesday afternoon.
I ask God in His mercy to be with you in that stress test, to give you peace that guards your heart, to guide the hands of those who care for you, and to grant a good and clear result. The Lord says, Come to me all you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. He does not call you to account in your anxiety but to give you rest and security, and He cares for your body as well as your soul. He who gave His own blood for your salvation will not despise you in your need, for He is Lord of all and His providence watches over you. May He lift up your hands that hang down and calm your heart as you wait and as you go through the test.
I also pray with you about the struggle with binge eating and your desire for a healthier and more joyful life. Scripture teaches us that sufficiency is nourishment and pleasure and health, while excess brings injury and disease. To nourish the body well is to take what is sufficient and what can be digested, and to put away what is superfluous, so that food remains a gift for strength and clarity and not a burden. Pray that God will give you self control, wisdom and steady habits, that you may honor Him with your body, find true pleasure in what is enough, and grow in health day by day. Many who are sick become healthy, and those who are healthy are kept by careful watchfulness, so do not despair but keep pressing forward.
May the Lord in His mercy grant you freedom from anxiety, deliverance from what harms you, and a joyful life rooted in His grace, that you may live with a good conscience and with thankfulness for His care.
