Strengthen Nepal Flood Victims -- Believers, Gospel, Hope, Workers, Hospitals -- Preparation of Next Regions for Approaching Storms, Earthquakes, Wars, -- Workers for Harvest Matt 9:35-37

Father this event is one of those things that could shake new believers (and those less grounded in the Whole Counsel of God that gives reasons for the necessity of suffering, perplexity and "birth pangs" but we do pray the church is strengthened, for rescue teams and for love, unity and workers to be released into The Harvest of Jesus Christ, Matt 9:35-37. Keep them strong through Your Intercession, Rom 8:34, Heb 7:25, and Our intercession, that their faith fail not, and once they turn back (work through misunderstanding the Scriptures on suffering, and the coming birth pangs and their nature), strengthen their brothers and sisters, Luke 22:32-32, in Jesus' Name, thank You, Phil 4:6-7.

We've been praying you prepare THE CHURCH for the next calamities, and ask in Your Mercy you continue to let us know what's to occur beforehand, John 14:29, 1 Cor 14:1-4, Joseph in Genesis prepared the people in Egypt for the coming famine, Gen 41:25-48, was given access to much which pertained to Nebuchadnezzar 1 & 2, Darius, His People, Israel and All Generations of the Righteous Believers until Present, Daniel 1:1-12:13, Agabus to quiet the calumny that was only old testament, "One of them, named Agabus, stood up and through the Spirit predicted that a severe famine would spread over the entire Roman world. (This happened during the reign of Claudius.)" Acts 11:28. There are records of a considerable amount of warnings given to the church before each false doctrine crept into their "counsels of men" over the last 2000+ years (many more being only referred to since their prophetic warning was "tossed aside" after the church ran blindly into veneration of images, papal infallibility, praying to saints, adoption of "Mary Worship," and the departing of Scripture as the sole authority on which all matters are to be settled, preaching in latin and languages not understood by the masses, etc, etc... As well as other warnings of world events...

Raise up your humble servants who can once more have understanding of the signs and times, Matt 16:3, Luke 12:53-56, Matt 24:4-14. Thank You in Jesus' Name, for not letting us be anxious, Phil 4:6-7, but in placid equanimity keep alert and warn, preach the gospel, and teach the "whole counsel of God," Acts 20:20, Acts 20:27, Matt 28:19-20, C.f., Deut 8:3, Matt 4:4, Luke 4:4, 2 Tim 3:16, 2 Peter 1:19-20, 2 Peter 3:11-18, so "This gospel of the Kingdom may be preached throughout the world as a testimony to all the nations (ethnos -- ethnic groups, specific cultures and languages within countries or with no country), so You may wrap things up and usher in all for which creation groans, Matt 24:14, Rom 8:22.

We join you in lifting up Nepal before the Father in Jesus name, and we agree together for the flood victims, for the believers there, for the spread of the gospel, for hope, for the workers on the ground and for the hospitals overwhelmed with need. We also join you in asking the Lord to prepare the church and the next regions that will face storms, earthquakes and even wars, that hearts would be ready and workers would be released into the harvest.

We hear your burden that such calamities can shake new believers and those not yet grounded in the whole counsel of God, and you are right to point to the necessity of suffering and the birth pangs of which Jesus warned. Scripture does not hide this. Jesus said in Matthew 24:8 that these things are the beginning of birth pains, and again in Matthew 24:14 that this Good News of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come. Paul reminds us in Romans 8:22 that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now. To understand suffering we must teach the whole counsel, for man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God, Deuteronomy 8:3, Matthew 4:4, Luke 4:4, and all Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, 2 Timothy 3:16. When the church is fed only part of the Word it is easily shaken, but when it receives the full counsel declared in Acts 20:27 it can stand.

We love your appeal to the examples of Joseph in Genesis 41:25 and following, who by God's revelation prepared Egypt for famine, and of Agabus who through the Spirit predicted that a severe famine would spread over the entire Roman world, Acts 11:28, and who also warned Paul. The Lord indeed said I have told you before it happens so that when it happens, you may believe, John 14:29. We are to desire spiritual gifts, especially that we may prophesy for the building up of the church, 1 Corinthians 14:1, and we are to pay attention to the prophetic word as to a lamp shining in a dark place, 2 Peter 1:19, while remembering that no prophecy of Scripture is of private interpretation, 2 Peter 1:20. We agree that God raises up humble servants who can discern the signs of the times, as Jesus rebuked those who could discern the face of the sky but could not discern the signs of the times, Matthew 16:3, Luke 12:56, and who will faithfully warn, preach the gospel and teach all that Jesus commanded, Matthew 28:19, Acts 20:20.

We also affirm your concern over the ways the church has departed when warnings were tossed aside, turning to the counsels of men, to veneration of images, to papal infallibility, to praying to saints and to the worship of Mary, and to preaching in languages not understood. We gently rebuke those practices, for Scripture alone is the sole authority on which all matters are to be settled, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Timothy 2:5, and we are to have no other gods before Him and make no carved image to bow down to, Exodus 20:3. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. We thank God that your request was offered in Jesus name, for apart from Him our prayers have no standing.

So we pray together now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son we come before Your throne of grace for Nepal. Have mercy on those who have lost homes, loved ones and livelihoods in the floods. Comfort those who mourn, for You have said blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted, Matthew 5:4. Strengthen the believers there that their faith would not fail. We ask that You who always live to make intercession for us, Hebrews 7:25, and Christ Jesus who is at the right hand of God and intercedes for us, Romans 8:34, would keep them, and that as You prayed for Peter that his faith would not fail and when he had turned again he would strengthen his brothers, Luke 22:32, so You would do for these dear brothers and sisters. Ground them in the whole counsel of God that they may understand suffering and not be led astray, and use them to strengthen others.

Lord, we ask for rescue teams, for doctors and nurses, for hospitals and relief workers. Give them endurance, wisdom and compassion, and let Your love and unity be seen among Your people as they serve. Let this calamity open doors for the gospel, for we remember how Jesus went about all the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people, but when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion for them, because they were harassed and scattered, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, The harvest indeed is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore that the Lord of the harvest will send out laborers into his harvest, Matthew 9:35. Lord of the harvest, send out laborers into Nepal and into every region that will face the next storms, earthquakes and wars.

Father, prepare Your church beforehand. Keep us from anxiety, as You command in Philippians 4:6 that in nothing we should be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, we should let our requests be made known to God, and then Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and our thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:7. Keep us alert, sober and faithful to preach the gospel to every ethnic group and to teach all things You have commanded, Matthew 28:20, so that Your purposes for creation would be fulfilled and You would be glorified. Raise up workers who are humble, watchful and rooted in Your Word, who will warn and shepherd well in the days ahead.

We thank You that You hear us when we pray in Jesus name, and we trust Your mercy and Your sovereign hand even in perplexity and birth pangs, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You, Romans 8:28. Establish Your church, let hope abound, and let the testimony of Jesus Christ shine brightly through suffering in Nepal and beyond. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

In hard seasons resilience is not simply something people have or do not have. That is one reason the local church matters so much in a crisis, because it is present where people are and can offer hands on help, comfort, and community day after day.

One simple way to keep this burden sustainable is to let your intercession stay focused and shared. You might choose one or two points closest to your heart right now, perhaps the hospital teams and the believers needing steadiness, and return to those daily, inviting one or two others to agree with you so you are not carrying it alone. Staying connected to a trusted Christian relief ministry serving in Nepal can also help you pray with current, specific needs.

Father in Jesus name we bring the flood affected families and communities in Nepal to You. Comfort those who mourn, strengthen Your people, uphold rescue workers and medical staff, and provide what is needed for recovery. Give wisdom to those preparing for future storms and raise up humble workers for Your harvest. Keep Your church rooted in hope and united in love. Amen.

We join you in bringing these heavy burdens before the throne of grace, and we thank the Lord that you have cast your care upon Him who cares for His people.

We pray for the flood stricken regions of Nepal, for those who have lost homes and loved ones, for the wounded and for the hospitals and rescue teams who labour to preserve life. May the Lord in His mercy grant skill to the hands that heal, strength to those who search and rescue, and may He open doors for the gospel to be proclaimed with clarity and compassion in the midst of great sorrow. We ask that believers there, whether young in the faith or long established, may not be shaken as though some strange thing had happened, but may remember that the Lord tries His people again and again to prove them and to make them more precious and more fit for His service. Trials make the promise sweet and give new life to prayer, and bring us to His feet and keep us there. As you have prayed, may their faith fail not, for Christ Himself ever lives to make intercession for them according to Romans 8:34 and Hebrews 7:25, and He will perfect that which concerns them.

We pray also for the whole counsel of God to be taught among them, that suffering and perplexity and these birth pangs of which Scripture speaks may be understood not as a sign that God has forgotten His people, but as part of His wise and sovereign purpose to make His Captain perfect through sufferings and to ennoble the whole work of grace. He who passed through waters and through fire for us now says to His own, When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee, and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee. May that word be their comfort, and may those who are more advanced in the faith be able to sympathize with and strengthen their brothers and sisters, as the Lord restored Peter that he might strengthen his brethren.

We ask the Lord of the harvest, as in Matthew 9:35 to 37, to look with compassion upon the multitudes who are faint and scattered, and to thrust forth labourers into His harvest. The fields are already white for harvest, and now is the time for sowing and reaping with expectation. Raise up workers who will preach the gospel of the Kingdom faithfully, who will teach all that Christ has commanded, and who will love with unity and truth so that the testimony of Christ may be plainly seen.

For the regions that lie in the path of further storms, earthquakes and wars, we pray for mercy and for wise preparation, both outward and inward. We ask for hearts kept in placid equanimity and not anxious, but watchful and prayerful as Philippians 4:6 and 7 teaches, making requests known to God and knowing His peace. Give to Your church understanding of the times in the light of Your written Word, which is able to make us wise unto salvation and thoroughly furnished for every good work, that we may not be tossed about but may stand firm, proclaim Christ as the only way of salvation, and be found faithful when He comes. May the gospel be preached throughout the world as a testimony to all nations, to the glory of Him who alone is our sanctuary and hope.

We commit these petitions to our faithful God, trusting that with every trial He will also make a way of escape that His people may be able to bear it, and that He will carry them through to the end, for His name and His glory, in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We have heard your prayer for Nepal and we make it our own before the Lord, for He saw the multitudes and was moved with compassion because they were troubled and scattered as sheep having no shepherd.

We join you in asking the Father to strengthen those who have lately believed, that their faith would not fail when shaken by flood and loss and fear, and that having been steadied they may strengthen their brothers and sisters. We pray for comfort and hope to be poured out, for healing and mercy in hospitals, for rescue teams and all who labor to relieve suffering, and for love and unity among the believers there. We ask that the Gospel would be heard clearly even in affliction, and that suffering would not drive hearts away but draw them to Christ who intercedes for us without ceasing.

You have rightly remembered that the harvest is plenteous but the laborers are few. Christ Himself is the Lord of the harvest, the husbandman and master of the prophets, and He Himself sends forth laborers into His harvest. Therefore we pray as He commanded, that the Lord of the harvest would send forth workers into Nepal and into every region that will face storms, earthquakes and wars, that the good seed already sown by the prophets and apostles would be reaped and that new seed would be sown with faithfulness.

We also pray that the Church everywhere would be prepared, not in anxiety but in watchful prayer and perseverance. As we are taught to pray at all seasons in the Spirit and to continue without ceasing, like the widow who prevailed by importunity and the Canaanite woman who by perseverance received what she asked, so we will continue to bring these needs before God. May He grant wisdom to discern the times, courage to preach the whole counsel of God and to teach all that Christ commanded, and grace to proclaim the Gospel of the Kingdom as a testimony to all nations while we still have time to sow. For now is the season for sowing, that we may rejoice in the harvest to come.

We ask all this with thanksgiving, that the peace of God which passes understanding would guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, until He brings to completion all for which creation groans. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Thank you for bringing this heavy burden to prayer and for your heart for those who are suffering and for the advance of the gospel.

We join you in praying that the faith of believers who have been shaken by this flood would not fail. Jesus Himself lives to intercede for His people, and His intercession does not cease. As He prayed that Peter's faith would not fail and that afterward he would strengthen his brothers, so we pray now that those who are confused or discouraged by suffering and by these birth pangs would be restored, grounded in the whole counsel of God, and made able to strengthen others. May the peace of God guard hearts and minds as you have asked, and may the church be kept in unity and love.

Scripture reminds us that after the great flood God made a covenant that seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night shall not cease while the earth remains. Before that judgment the conditions of the earth were very different and more gentle, but afterward God established the seasons as we know them. That flood was not a small local inundation but a judgment that destroyed the earth, and the fact that every people group retains a memory of such a flood bears witness to it. God's promise was that He would never again destroy the earth with water as He did then. Yet within this present order, local floods and storms still come with overwhelming power. Anyone who has seen a flood knows its awesome force, waters lifting up their waves and sweeping away what stands before them, but the psalm declares that the Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters and mightier than the mighty waves. We pray that those overwhelmed by loss would look to Him who is stronger than the flood.

We also pray for practical mercy. Under the law God commanded His people when they reaped their harvest not to reap to the very corners of the field and not to gather every gleaning, but to leave something for the poor and the stranger to gather. It was not merely a handout but provision that allowed the needy to share in the harvest with dignity. In the same way we pray for rescue teams, for medical workers and hospitals, and for all who bring relief, that God would use them to show His compassion and that His people would be generous and orderly in meeting needs.

You have asked for workers for the harvest, and that is the heart of Christ. He looked on the crowds with compassion and said the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few, and He told us to pray the Lord of the harvest to send out workers. James reminds us to have patience and to establish our hearts, because the Lord is waiting for the full fruit of the harvest. He is not slow, but patient, gathering His own. We pray that even through calamity the gospel of the kingdom would be preached as a testimony to all peoples, and that humble servants would be raised up who understand the times, who watch and warn, who preach the gospel and teach all that God has given us in His Word. The Scriptures are sufficient to make us wise and to settle all matters, and they clearly tell us that perplexity, wars, famines and earthquakes will mark this age until creation's groaning is answered at Christ's return. Our calling is not to be anxious but to be sober, prayerful, and faithful in that Word.

So we pray with you that God would strengthen believers in the flood stricken areas, comfort those who mourn, sustain those who labor to rescue and heal, and send forth many more workers into the harvest. May He keep His church alert, steadfast, and full of hope as we wait for Him, trusting His faithfulness in every season He has ordained.

We have also continued to pray with you for more workers to be released into the harvest as Jesus taught in Matt 9:35, for love and unity among the saints, and for the peace that guards hearts as in Phil 4:6.

We have also joined you in praying for the preparation of the next regions facing approaching storms, earthquakes and wars, and that the Lord would raise up humble servants with understanding of the signs and times as in Matt 16:3 and Matt 24:4, who will faithfully preach the gospel of the Kingdom to all nations as in Matt 24:14 and teach the whole counsel of God. We have asked Him in His mercy to make the church ready and watchful, not anxious, but alert to warn and to minister as He did with Joseph in Gen 41:25 and with Agabus in Acts 11:28.

We pray in Jesus Name that the Lord would comfort those who suffer, heal the hurting, provide for every need, strengthen every believer, and anoint workers, hospitals and all who serve in Nepal and in every region soon to face calamity, and that through all of it the gospel would go forth and many would be drawn to Christ.
