Strength and comfort during a rough patch

Disciple of Prayer
Hello everyone. This is my first time here but I really don't know what else to do. To be honest, I've been struggling for a long time. I'm ### and I've been dealing with one thing or another for the past ### or ### years. When my grandmother passed away (she got me into Church), I continued to go and got baptized about a year after that. Then, when I started having more school work, I stopped going and after a while stopped praying or anything. I figured I would try download a Bible app and start watching sermons on Youtube. Well the preacher I was watching turned out to be a doomsdayer and twisted the Bible into his vision for the end of the world coming soon. I then decided to read the Bible on my own, but I was not smart enough to understand at the time what I was reading or listening to, and fell into a deep fear of unforgivable sin. For the past years every day, I've been terrified of doing something that God wouldn't forgive me for. Fast forward, everything I do, my brain will try to twist into this fear when I don't want it to. I haven't had a day of peace in so long and I keep asking God for help but He seems to not hear or help, despite me knowing he does. I even asked him that if He wouldn't remove it for Him to just teach me whatever He wants me to know and stop letting it happen. Please pray for some comfort, guidance, and strength. Thank you all.

We hear your cry for help, and we want you to know that your pain and fear have not fallen on deaf ears. The weight you’ve been carrying is heavy, and it’s clear that the enemy has used confusion, fear, and isolation to try to separate you from the peace and assurance that is yours in Christ. But we stand with you now, lifting you up in prayer and speaking truth over your situation, for "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7).

First, we must address the lie that you may have committed an "unforgivable sin." The very fact that you are afraid of this and are still seeking God is evidence that you have not blasphemed the Holy Spirit. Jesus Himself said, "Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men" (Matthew 12:31). The unforgivable sin is a persistent, willful rejection of the Holy Spirit’s work in your life—hardening your heart to the point of no return. Your fear and desire for forgiveness prove that your heart is tender toward God, not hardened. You are not beyond His grace. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). There is no sin too great for the blood of Jesus to cover.

We also rebuke the spirit of fear that has taken root in your mind. Fear is not from God, and it has no place in the life of a believer. The enemy has used false teaching and isolation to distort your understanding of God’s character. You mentioned that God "seems" not to hear or help you, but Scripture assures us that "the eyes of Yahweh are toward the righteous, and his ears listen to their cry" (Psalm 34:15). Your feelings are not always an accurate reflection of reality. God *is* near to you, even when you don’t feel Him. He has not abandoned you, and He is working even in the midst of your struggle. "For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:38-39).

We encourage you to return to the simplicity of the Gospel. You were saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not by your own understanding or effort. "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9). Your salvation is secure in Christ, and nothing you do—or don’t do—can change that. The fear you’re experiencing is a tactic of the enemy to keep you from walking in the freedom and peace that Jesus died to give you. But "whom the Son sets free is free indeed" (John 8:36). You are not a slave to fear; you are a child of God.

We also want to gently address the way you’ve been engaging with Scripture. Reading the Bible on your own without guidance can lead to confusion, especially when you’re already struggling with fear and anxiety. We encourage you to find a solid, Bible-believing church where you can be discipled and taught by godly leaders. "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near" (Hebrews 10:24-25). You need the body of Christ to walk alongside you, to pray with you, and to help you discern truth from lies.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling under the weight of fear and confusion. Lord, we thank You that You are a God who hears, who sees, and who cares deeply for Your children. We rebuke the spirit of fear that has tormented him/her, and we command it to leave in the name of Jesus. We declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18), and we ask that You would flood his/her heart with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we ask that You would break the chains of lies that have bound him/her. Remind him/her of the truth of Your Word—that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1), and that nothing can separate him/her from Your love (Romans 8:38-39). Lord, we ask that You would heal his/her mind and restore his/her soul. Give him/her clarity and understanding as he/she reads Your Word, and lead him/her to a church where he/she can be discipled and encouraged by fellow believers.

We pray for strength for him/her to resist the enemy’s lies and to stand firm in the truth. Fill him/her with Your Holy Spirit, that he/she may walk in the freedom and victory that is his/hers in Christ. Lord, we ask that You would remove this heavy burden of fear and replace it with Your peace. Teach him/her to cast all his/her anxieties on You, because You care for him/her (1 Peter 5:7). We trust that You are working all things together for his/her good (Romans 8:28), and we ask that You would reveal Your love and faithfulness to him/her in tangible ways.

Thank You, Lord, for Your mercy and grace. Thank You that You are a God who restores, heals, and redeems. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus. Amen.

We encourage you to take one step at a time. Start by confessing your fears to God and declaring His truth over your life. Find a Bible-teaching church where you can grow and be surrounded by believers who can support you. You are not alone in this battle, and God has not left you to fight it by yourself. "The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 27:1). Keep pressing into Him, and He will lead you out of this valley into a place of peace and victory.

We're right here with you, friend. We know it's tough when fear and uncertainty take over, but remember, God is always near, even in the darkest times. We've been praying for you, asking God to fill you with His peace and comfort. We're believing with you for a breakthrough, for those moments of clarity and understanding as you read His Word, and for the strength to stand firm in His truth.

We want to encourage you to keep seeking God, even when it's hard. Keep talking to Him, even if it's just a cry for help. He's there, listening, and He cares deeply about what you're going through. And remember, you're not alone. We're here for you, and so is the church family God has placed around you. Let's keep lifting each other up in prayer and supporting one another in love.

Keep trusting in God's goodness and faithfulness. He's got you, and He's working everything out for your good. Just keep taking one step at a time, and watch as He reveals His love and faithfulness to you in tangible ways.

Keep fighting the good fight, dear friend. We're cheering you on, and we're believing for your victory. Keep your eyes on Jesus, and He'll lead you through to the other side. You got this, with God by your side. Keep pressing in, and watch as He moves in your life.

Praying for you and your request in Jesus. Did you know that all of the promises that we read about in the Bible can be claimed over ourselves in Jesus?

Have we ever really meditated on Matthew 6 where Jesus instructs us to take no thought for our lives? I have looked at this in terms of the rest of the Bible where I have learned to claim His Promises in Jesus and take on His thoughts for my life. Thank You Lord Jesus for Blessing me to learn to stop thinking about my life, learn to take on Your thoughts for my life and so much more for Your Glory and my good in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Jesus! Glory to You Lord Jesus!!!

Do you Believe Jesus died for our sins, is Risen from the dead, is Preparing a place for us and is about to call us to join Him?

Are you watching for Jesus in the Clouds of Glory? Jesus is about to call us to join Him!

We can do everything Jesus did and more! We can speak; sickness leave in Jesus! Be healed by Jesus stripes! I am healed by Jesus stripes! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus!

You can copy and paste this to pray every day and share...

There is nothing that happens for us that is bad except our thoughts about what is happening to us. The Bible says All things work together for our good in Jesus! Look at everything as good!

Sing through out your days Thank You Jesus, Praise You Jesus, Glory to You Lord Jesus or anything that is on your heart to sing to Jesus! It doesn't matter how we sound, Angels will join in with us and Jesus will join in with us as well as fight for us, knock down walls for us, open locks for us, save people for us, evil will flee from us, He heals us and He will over flow His Holy Peace in us.

Praying for others on here and reading your Bible will help you tremendously.

I wanted to commit suicide once, I even came up with a plan. Right before I headed out the door I posted a prayer on here and hoping there might be help from God one last time I opened the Bible and only read take no thought for your life from Matthew 6. I read that before at least 100 times but never really could understand how. This time I took it to heart, all right God I will end my life by not thinking about it. I take no thought, I take no thought, I take no thought over and over and over again I take no thought was my only thought that day. All of a sudden I noticed something, Jesus showed up, all my pains were gone, no neck ache, no back pain, no leg pain from many many accidents I had over the years and no pain in my heart as my wife had left me. I started singing praises and thanks to Jesus and my life has never been the same. My wife returned. It is our obedience to God from His Holy Instructions that makes a difference to His Power of His Promises in our lives.

Be a doer of Jesus friend, it really makes a difference! Thank You Lord Jesus! All things work together for my good in Jesus!

Search the Bible for Jesus' Promises friend, do them and claim them in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus! Glory to You Lord Jesus!!!

Powerful healing promise hidden in Proverbs 3:7-8, I am not wise in my own eyes, I fear You Lord, I depart from evil, especially my own evil thoughts and my flesh is healed and my body is refreshed in Jesus.

Praying for others especially in your situation will help you tremendously in yours friend.

Take no thought for your life dear friend and Jesus will take thought for you. Sing praises and thanks to Jesus and He will overflow His Holy Spirit in you and so much more. He will fight for you and give you the desires of your heart.

Pray this prayer look up the verses and pray it again with your friends and family and let's mount up with wings as eagles and soar. Soar with me.

Let Us Pray: God I ask in Jesus' name, bless me to grow closer to You. I long for a more intimate relationship with You. God I take You at Your Word, if I will draw closer to You, You will draw closer to me (James 4:8). Show me how to draw closer to You. Bless me daily to cast off and forsake my thoughts and ways for my life, and exchange them for Your thoughts and ways for my life. Let me think Your thoughts and dream Your dreams for my life. God bless me to live and walk in Your love, mercy and forgiveness (Isaiah 55:7). I confess, I will take no thought for my life. I will trust You Father God to take thought for me and take care of me (Mathew 6:25-34). I will not be wise in my own eyes, I will fear You Lord and depart from evil and my flesh will be healed and my body will be refreshed (Proverbs 3:7-8) daily. Thank You Jesus for Your Promises! Lord make me the Child of God You need me to be in Christ for all those around me and for the world to see (Psalms 128:3). Not by my might, nor by my power, but by Your Spirt Christ Jesus (Zechariah 4:6) this shall happen. And it will happen, it is happening now in Your timing, Power, Strength, Might, and Spirit, Christ Jesus. God all that I have asked of you in this prayer please do the same for all those I love, care about, and every faithful prayer warrior on this site. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Lord Jesus, my Savior and Lord for answering this prayer with a Yes and Amen.

Bless us to sing praises and thanks to You Lord Jesus so You can fill us with the wine of the Spirit in Jesus Name, Amen.
