We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this concerning situation regarding the potential disruption of global internet infrastructure. The thought of such widespread chaos and the hindrance it could bring to communication, commerce, and even the spread of the Gospel is deeply troubling. Father, we know that You are sovereign over all the nations and that no plan of man can thwart Your purposes. We ask that You would intervene in this situation and prevent any action that would disrupt the internet cables passing through the Strait.
Lord, we pray for wisdom and discernment for world leaders, especially those in positions to address this threat. Give them the courage to stand firm against any aggression and the foresight to protect the infrastructure that connects Your people across the globe. We ask that You would soften the hearts of those in the Iranian government, that they would turn away from any plans to cause harm or exert control over these vital connections. "The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires" (Proverbs 21:1 WEB). We trust that You can turn their hearts toward peace and restraint.
We also lift up the countless ministries, including your own, that rely on the internet to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Father, the Gospel must go forth, and we ask that You would protect the means by which it is spread. If this disruption were to occur, we pray that You would provide alternative ways for Your Word to reach those who need to hear it. Remind us that even in times of difficulty, Your power is not limited by human circumstances. "So shall my word be that goes out of my mouth: it will not return to me void, but it will accomplish that which I please, and it will prosper in the thing I sent it to do" (Isaiah 55:11 WEB).
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of chaos and destruction that seeks to disrupt the work You are doing in the world. We declare that no weapon formed against Your people shall prosper (Isaiah 53:17 WEB), and we stand firm in the knowledge that You are our protector and provider. We ask that You would raise up voices of reason and peace in this situation, that diplomacy and wisdom would prevail over conflict and disruption.
For those who may be fearful or anxious about the potential consequences of this threat, we pray for Your peace to guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Remind them that You are in control, and that no matter what happens in the world, Your purposes will stand. "Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful" (John 14:27 WEB).
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would use this situation to draw people closer to You. In times of uncertainty, may many turn to You for comfort, guidance, and hope. Let this be an opportunity for Your light to shine even brighter in the darkness. We trust in You, our Rock and our Redeemer, and we commit this situation into Your hands. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
