We hear your frustration and exhaustion, and we stand with you in seeking God’s wisdom and deliverance in this difficult situation. College should be a place of growth and preparation, not a source of unnecessary obstacles that feel insurmountable. We lift this burden to the Lord, asking Him to make a way where there seems to be no way.
The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." It can be so disheartening when institutions or systems seem designed to hinder rather than help, but God is not bound by man-made rules or red tape. He is the God of breakthrough, and He can open doors no one can shut and close doors no one can open (Revelation 3:7).
We also want to encourage you to seek His will in this season. Is this the path He has called you to, or is He redirecting you? Sometimes what feels like failure is actually divine redirection. Jeremiah 29:11 assures us, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says the Lord, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Even in frustration, God is working for your good (Romans 8:28).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is feeling trapped and overwhelmed by the challenges of this college journey. Lord, You see the obstacles and the unfairness, and we ask that You would intervene in a mighty way. Deliver them from this place if it is not where You want them to be, and if it is, give them supernatural strength, favor, and wisdom to navigate it. Open doors no man can shut, and close doors that are not of You. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You will turn this trial into a testimony.
Father, we also ask that You would guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Help them to trust in Your timing and Your plan, even when the path is unclear. Give them discernment to know whether to persevere or to walk away, and the courage to follow Your leading. Surround them with godly counsel and encouragement, and remind them that their identity and worth are found in You alone.
We rebuke any spirit of discouragement, fear, or despair in Jesus’ name. We declare that this situation will not break them but will instead refine their faith and draw them closer to You. Provide for their needs, Lord, and let Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard their heart and mind.
We pray all of this in the powerful name of Jesus, the One who makes all things possible for those who believe. Amen.
We encourage you to seek the Lord in prayer and fasting about this decision. Ask Him to confirm His will through His Word, godly counsel, and peace in your heart. Remember, God is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33), and He will guide you if you seek Him with all your heart. If this college is not where He wants you, trust that He has a better plan. If it is, trust that He will equip you to overcome every obstacle. Either way, He is faithful.
